Deerpark Tennis Club

Brilliant Summer League campaigns by each of DP 4 &5 Women's and DP3 Men's teams under the captaincy of Ann Gordon, Marie Keegan and Carl Alfvag respectively ended with very tight defeats on Saturday. As our beloved Bradley might say - 'For you, the Chase is over - for now!' But the principal objective of promotion for each of the three teams has been achieved in what was overall a very positive league campaign with three promotions and one relegation. Onwards to the Mixed League we go!

There was great support for our teams during the week as they chased promotion and a great buzz in the club. Check out the scenes as our DP3 Men won their match. Now we are going pennant-chasing - with all three teams playing their Q-Finals tomorrow (Sat). Our DP4 Women are away to Enniskerry & DP5 Women are home to Castleknock. Our Mens 3 team are away to Sandycove. All support gratefully received. P.S. No AI characters were harmed in the making of this video.

It just gets better! Congrats to our Mens 3 team, captained last night by Yannick Ortin, who got promoted to Class 6 after a 3-2 win at home to Terenure CYM. Although the matches were quite tight, we conceded two from winning positions having got to 3-0 so the victory was pretty emphatic really. Next up is Sandycove 6 in two days time. That's 3 teams now into Quarter-finals - the Chase for a Blue Pennant is most definitely on!

Epic!! 👏Not one, but two Deerpark teams got promoted last night - and both out of the same class! Huge congrats to our DP4 and DP5 Women's teams who won their matches last night, reaching the quarter-finals and therefore the sunny uplands of promotion from Class 7 to Class 6. Ann Gordon's DP4 team went into the jaws of the lion (Rockfield away) and emerged with a 3-2 win, while back at base Marie Keegan's DP5 also won 3-2 versus a sticky Stackallen team. The Chase for a Pennant is most definitely on now, although if both teams win their next match they would actually face each other in the semi-final! 😬

And we have a third team chasing a pennant in Carl Alfvag's Men's DP3 Class 7 team. Get out and support the lads as they host Terenure CYM at 7.30 in the club this evening (Wed 17th). 💪

Marie Keegan's Class 7 Women's team host Stackallen this evening at 7.30 - so grab a quick bite and get yourself down to see some thrilling action. Also this evening and also in Class 7, Ann Gordon brings her team to Rockfield in Beaumont (still time to beat the traffic!). And tomorrow at 7.30 Carl Alfvag's Men's Class 7 team host Terenure CYM. So let's get behind the troops and show some support! It's time to take home a pennant - The Chase is On!
