⭐️ FIPPApitch Juvenile Irish Open Preview by @John Manning……
There is an old Irish proverb, “Mol an óige agus tiocfaidh said”, which means “Praise the youth and they will flourish.”
Kudos to the Irish Open organisers who have done precisely that, and introduced a Juvenile element to the 10th Irish Open. Over 50 boys and girls will compete, which is hugely encouraging.
Now aged just 11 years old, Jack Frawley (Crosshaven) played in the National Boys Matchplay last year.
Fermoy’s Conor Ronan is the reigning National Age 10-13 Strokeplay champion. He also claimed the 2025 Munster Strokeplay title. A silver medallist with Cork in the 2025 National Inter-County championship, he helped the Leesiders to the 2025 Munster Inter-County title. Conor played for Munster in last autumn’s interprovincial challenge.
Harry Concannon (Gowran) was the National Juvenile 10-13 Strokeplay champion in 2024 (having contested a play-off for the overall title). 2025 National Juvenile Matchplay runner-up, Harry was also a 2025 All-Ireland Schools tournament runner-up with St. Kieran’s College (Kilkenny).
Twice a National Juvenile Inter-County runner-up with Kilkenny, Harry was Leinster Juvenile Strokeplay champion (10-13) in 2024 and played for Leinster in the 2024 and 2025 Interprovincial challenges.
Home club player Summer Audah won the 2024 Leinster Strokeplay Under-13 championship at Trim.
Summer’s club colleague Gemma Hayden (the 2025 Dublin Strokeplay runner-up) reached the National Girls Matchplay semi-finals in 2025.
The Portmarnock pair contested the 2025 Dublin Matchplay final at R.G.S.C. with Gemma claiming the win.
2024 and 2025 National Girls Matchplay champion Sarah Ryan (Tipperary Hills) was National Girls Strokeplay runner-up in 2024, the year she was Munster Girls Matchplay champion
2022, 2023 and 2025 Munster Girls Strokeplay champion, Sarah was a silver medallist in the 2023 Munster Girls Matchplay and in the 2024 provincial Strokeplay.
A 2025 provincial Inter-County runner-up with Tipperary, Sarah represented Munster in the 2024 and 2025 Interprovincial challenges.
Another Munster representative in the 2025 Interprovincial Challenge, Aodhán O’Halloran (Deerpark) was a 2024 and 2025 Munster Strokeplay bronze medalist. Aodhán was a member of the Kerry 2025 Munster Inter-County championship third-placed side. He won last year’s ESB and Deerpark Juvenile Scratch Cups.
2024 Munster Strokeplay (10-13) champion, Fionn McMonagle (Deerpark) was a National Boys Matchplay semi-finalist last year.
2025 Provincial Matchplay runner-up and Munster Strokeplay (10-13) runner-up, Fionn played for Munster last year at Ryston.
E.S.B.’s Aaron Corcoran was 2025 Cork Matchplay 10-13 runner-up
Ben Gorman (Kilbeggan) finished thrd in the 2025 Leinster Juvenile Strokeplay Championships, at Bagenalstown.
2024 All Ireland Boys Matchplay Plate winner, Eoghan Morrissey (Gowran) was a 2025 Leinster Inter-County bronze medallist as well as 2024 National Juvenile Inter-County runner-up.
2025 National Juvenile Strokeplay runner-up Enda Hayden (Portmarnock) was key member of the Leinster inter-pro set-up last year.
2025 Leinster Juvenile Strokeplay bronze medallist, Enda claimed third place with Dublin in the 2025 National Inter-County championship.
2024 National Boys Matchplay Plate semi-finalist, Enda finished second in the 2025 Dublin Strokeplay and helped Dublin to silver medals in the 2025 Leinster Juvenile Inter-County
Aaron Seery (Kilbeggan) reached the National Boys Matchplay championship Plate semi-final at St. Bridget’s in 2024.
Hugo Gibbons (Portmarnock) won the Dublin Boys 10-13 Strokeplay championship at Lucan in 2025, having been a Leinster Juvenile Strokeplay bronze medallist at Trim the previous year
