Creating healthier communities through sport âš˝
Across May & June, we were proud to deliver another hugely successful schools' programme at St. Laurence O'Toole's NS and St. Vincent's GNS, made possible through the generous support of AIG Ireland, a global organisation with its Irish headquarters located right in the heart of Dublin’s north inner city close to the participating schools.
As part of AIG Ireland's commitment to encouraging active living within their local community, children in both schools were able to take part in a structured football programme completely free of charge, promoting physical activity, confidence, teamwork, and enjoyment through sport.
A key element of the initiative was the involvement of the DDSL Grassroots and Sheriff YC helping to strengthen the connection between the schools and their local grassroots club. One of our core aims is to bridge the pathway from children participating in sport within school to becoming involved with their local club, creating lifelong opportunities to stay active and enjoy the many benefits that sport brings.
The enthusiasm from both schools throughout the programme was outstanding, and it was fantastic to see so many young people developing new skills while having fun in a positive and inclusive environment.
A huge thank you to AIG Ireland for investing in their local community and helping make this programme possible, and also to the DDSL Grassroots, Sheriff YC, St. Laurence O'Toole's NS, and St. Vincent's GNS for their support and collaboration throughout.
Together, we're helping more children discover the benefits of sport and creating stronger links between schools, clubs, and local communities.
We are in the process of planning for September 2026 when schools return, if your company would like to get involved in a local school to you, please contact us on 01-541 4747 or [email protected]
