🏅 National Community Games Success for DDAC!

It was a fantastic weekend for our young athletes at the National Community Games at SETU in Carlow, with plenty of strong performances and some brilliant achievements along the way.

A huge congratulations to Emily Garvey, who came away with a fantastic silver medal in the U14 800m. A brilliant performance on the national stage!

Our U12 relay team also ran a fantastic race, with Lucy, Aine, Laura and Eabha combining brilliantly and doing the club proud.

A special congratulations to Leigh, who produced an excellent 24.66m throw in the javelin. It was Leigh's first time competing at the National Community Games, making the achievement even more special. What a way to make a national debut!

There was also brilliant running from Eabha in the 100m, while a big well done to Jack O'Connor, who took to the track in the 100m.

A massive congratulations to all our young athletes who competed over the weekend. Reaching the National Community Games is an achievement in itself, and we're incredibly proud to see our juveniles competing, enjoying the experience and representing DDAC so well.

DDAC on the Antrim Coast!

Four DDAC athletes took on the Antrim Coast Half Marathon over the weekend, tackling the challenging half marathon distance and representing the club brilliantly.

Luke Cormican led the way with a strong 1:24:23, followed by
John Perkins in 1:27:14
Siobhan Kinsella in 2:04:12 and Margarita Vaitkute in 2:05:58.

Well done to all four athletes on putting in the work and taking on another tough half marathon. Great to see the DDAC colours making an appearance on the Antrim Coast!

⛳ DDAC Golf Classic 2026 ⛳

Dust off the clubs, gather your teammates and join us for the DDAC Golf Classic 2026 at Seapoint Golf Club on Friday, 18th September.

Whether you're a seasoned golfer or just looking for a great day out, this promises to be a fantastic event in support of Drogheda & District AC.

Golf, good company, a little friendly competition and the opportunity to support your local athletics club – what more could you ask for?

Teams of four are invited to take part, with all proceeds helping to support the continued development of DDAC and the athletes who represent our club across all age groups.

🥇 GOLD FOR BEATRICE!

A huge congratulations to Beatrice Cunningham, who has won gold in the 800m at the European Deaf Youth Games 2026!

Beatrice has made history by becoming the first Irish athlete to win gold in an athletics track event at the Games. What an incredible achievement and one that she can be hugely proud of.

A special mention too to her dad and coach Ollieand head coach liam reilly , who will no doubt be one very proud man tonight! The work that goes on behind the scenes makes moments like this all the more special.

A fantastic performance from Aaron Hanlon at the Cork City 10km!

Competing against a high-quality field, Aaron produced an outstanding run to claim 2nd place overall in a superb time of 30:42.

Breaking the 31-minute barrier is an achievement in itself, but to do so in one of Ireland's biggest road races and secure a podium finish makes the performance even more impressive.

A huge congratulations to Aaron on a brilliant result and for once again representing Drogheda & District AC at the highest level.

Well done, Aaron!
