π₯π£: Hands up, chin down, connect well, show respect, fight with integrity...and please don't forget everything I've spent months teaching you in the next 30 seconds ππ€£
And didn't he do well! π₯
Well done Jack O'Connell who had a fantastic fight at The Laois Open 2026.
After a difficult start against a bigger stronger opponent he kept his technique and broke through a heavy guard, showing his fitness and dedication to training over the past few months to take the win πͺ

π₯π What a performance from Emily! ππ₯
A huge congratulations to 10-year-old Emily, who competed in The Laois Open 2026 and came away with a fantastic win! ππ
Emily, our youngest fighter, showed great courage, focus and determination during the fight. She has been putting in the work at training, and it was brilliant to see her take that hard work into competition and perform so well. πͺ
Well done Emily β you should be very proud of yourself! β€οΈπ
And a big thank you to everyone who supports our young fighters and helps make these opportunities possible, especially her Dad, club member and partner in kickboxing Stephen Harron π.

π₯AGE IS JUST A NUMBER β effort is what counts! πͺ
Big shout out to the lads Rory McGowan & Peter Mullaney π Both who had put in weeks of hard work, training, sparring and preparation in the build-up to The Laois Open 2026, and that commitment really showed when it came time to step onto the tatami.
As is the case sometimes with mature fighters they had to face the same tall 18 year old opponent but that's always a great challenge and was a serious test for both fightersπ.
Whether you're 18, 30 something, 40 something, or beyond π, there's a place for you in the club. You can train at your own level, challenge yourself and, if you want to, experience the buzz of competition.
A massive well done to both lads for putting in the work and stepping up when it mattered. You did yourselves and the club proud. π₯π
For anyone who thinks they're too old to start, too old to compete or that kickboxing competition is only for younger fighters β think again!

WHAT ITβS ALL ABOUTβΊοΈπ₯π
What a moment for Gary Kerrigan! ππ₯
Last weekend, Gary stepped onto the tatami and competed for the very first time.
His smile, that raised hand and that walk off the tatami say it all β a fantastic achievement and a moment he can be incredibly proud of. β€οΈ
For us as a club, these are the moments that make all the training worthwhile. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive club where everyone can challenge themselves, overcome their nerves and discover what they are capable of. Moments like this are exactly what kickboxing is all about. π₯π
Congrats Gary! You should be very proud of yourself. π₯π
Weβre absolutely delighted for you from everyone at the club! πͺ

Stepping onto the mats for the first time is a huge achievement in itself. But Natalie didn't just step upβ¦ she rose to the challenge. πͺ
Facing a strong opponent, Natalie showed incredible composure throughout the bout and winning her section.
A massive congratulations to Natalie from everyone at Donegal Town Kickboxing Clubππ₯.
