A fantastic crew launched from Schull Pier yesterday morning before making their way to our summer home at the Fastnet Marine & Outdoor Education Centre
A huge thank you to the ETB for facilitating us. We’re looking forward to a brilliant summer of sailing, learning, and making memories on the water.
The move from the pier also helps ensure we’re not adding to the pressure on an increasingly busy Schull Pier during the summer months – a great example of our community working together for everyone’s benefit.

Schull Calves Week Entries Surge Ahead of Fee Deadline More than half the expected fleet has already entered Schull's 2026 Calves Week before the discounted fee deadline.

🇮🇪 Congratulations to Daniel Copithorne and Team Ireland on an outstanding performance at the U23 Youth World Match Racing Championships in Middelfart, Denmark! ⛵

At just 17 years old, Daniel was the youngest skipper at the event by several years, making this achievement even more remarkable.

Competing against 12 of the best youth match racing teams from around the world, Daniel and his crew put in a superb performance throughout the championship.

After a fiercely competitive round robin series filled with nail-biting finishes and photo-finish races, Team Ireland finished 10th overall, earning a chance to fight for 9th place against Slovakia.

The final ranking came down to a best-of-three sail-off, and Team Ireland delivered when it mattered most. With two back-to-back race wins, they secured a well-deserved 9th place finish in the world championship standings. 💪

A fantastic achievement on the international stage and a testament to the team’s determination, resilience, and racing skills throughout the week. Competing against older and more experienced crews, Daniel and his team showed maturity, composure, and talent well beyond their years.

⛵🇮🇪 Schull Harbour Sailing Club is delighted to announce our sponsorship of Daniel Copithorne and the as they represent SHSC and Ireland at the 2026 Youth Match Racing World Championship in Middelfart, Denmark, commencing on 21st June.

Daniel’s dedication, skill, and commitment to sailing have been outstanding, and we are incredibly proud to see him competing on the world stage. Representing both SHSC and Ireland at such a prestigious event is a tremendous achievement. Daniel has also been recognised internationally as one of just ten sailors selected by World Sailing to compete at this year’s event.

Everyone at Schull Harbour Sailing Club wishes Daniel and the entire Moxie Racing Team the very best of luck as they take on the world’s best youth match racers.
