Among their greatest figures was The Dagda — “The Good God” — a powerful leader associated with strength, wisdom, abundance and the land.

🌳 The oak represents those same qualities — strength, endurance, wisdom and deep roots. It now stands at the heart of the Fota Adventure identity, with the ancient triskelion woven into its roots, connecting our adventures to Ireland’s past.

🌿 THE CIRCLE OF THE DAGDA 🌳

According to the legend of the Dagda, wisdom was never given—it had to be earned.

Your journey begins inside the Circle of the Dagda, where 14 standing stones surround the Stone of Wisdom. Each stone represents one of the Fourteen Virtues of the Dagda. Blindfolded, you must rely entirely on your tribe to guide you safely through the circle, proving that trust and teamwork are greater than strength alone.

Once the circle has been completed, the journey continues along the 14 Oak Steps.

Each oak step reflects one of the virtues represented by the stones, reminding us that wisdom is not simply discovered—it is carried forward and lived through our actions.

Only by trusting one another, communicating clearly and walking the path together can a tribe truly earn the wisdom of the Dagda.
