A memorable start to the 2026 Irish Rowing Championships

Yesterday at the National Rowing Centre, we celebrated 50 years since Ireland’s Montreal 1976 Olympic rowing team, bringing together Olympians, coaches, family members, current high-performance athletes, partners and the wider rowing community.

The special commemorative lunch honoured the athletes and coaches whose dedication, resilience and achievements helped lay the foundations for the success of Irish rowing today.

It was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect, share stories, reflect on the journey of Irish rowing over the past five decades, and celebrate the lasting legacy of the Montreal generation.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this very special occasion.
