John Harte’s Captain’s Prize to the Juveniles
A big day for our juvenile boys at Monkstown Golf Club, with a fantastic turnout for Captain John Harte’s Prize.
Congratulations to Max O’Sullivan, our 2026 Captain’s Prize winner, and well done to all the boys who played and made it such an enjoyable occasion.

A PRESIDENT’S PRIZE WEEKEND TO REMEMBER
Mr John Murphy’s President’s Prize weekend was a resounding success, with well over 360 golfers competing across Friday and Saturday. The course was in terrific condition and there was a wonderful atmosphere around the club throughout.
Congratulations to President John, Carol and the Murphy family on hosting such a memorable weekend, and to all of the prize winners.
A very special mention must go to our overall winner, Thomas McCarthy. A member of Monkstown for over 55 years and a tremendous supporter of the club, Tom produced a remarkable 42 points at the age of 87, pipping Landy Hill by a single point to claim the 2026 President’s Prize.
There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as Tom gracefully accepted his prize and spoke so eloquently about what the occasion meant to him.
A wonderful moment for a true Monkstown stalwart and an enormously popular winner.

A special congratulations to Cian McDonnell, who has won the Kerry Boys Championship for the second time in three years.
Cian led the qualifying stage by an impressive five shots before coming through the match play to claim another superb victory.
A fantastic achievement and further evidence of the exciting path this talented young golfer is on.

What a day for it superb weather, plenty of great golf and a fabulous buzz around the club. The course is in terrific condition, so a big thank you to Martin Travers and his team for all their work.
