In the gym, past my due date, 2 days before baby girl arrived đź’•
I’m so grateful I trained throughout my pregnancy, even on the days I didn’t want to. Training didn’t guarantee an easier labour, but I do believe it helped prepare me for the physical and mental demands of it. Especially when my labour was lonnng and the most physically demanding thing I’ve ever done.
Labour requires endurance, strength, breathing through discomfort, changing positions and continuing when you’re tired, all things I had experience with from training.
It taught me to trust my body, regulate my breathing and keep going when things got hard.
Labour was still incredibly challenging, and training certainly didn’t make it easy. But I genuinely felt that I had prepared my body as well as I could for the job it was about to do.

1,000,000 metres âś… Just in time.
I set myself the goal of hitting a million metres before baby arrived… and managed to tick it off at 39 weeks pregnant🤰
Pregnancy has definitely changed what training looks like for me, but it’s reminded me that goals don’t have to disappear, they just evolve.
Staying active during pregnancy has helped me feel stronger, keep my energy up, and prepare both physically and mentally for birth.
