Wednesday Track Session Cancelled 8th July

Hi All, Unfortunately we have to cancel the track session for this week. We have just got notice from UCC that the track contractors have to come back to correct some defects that have been discovered. The track will be unavailable during this time. Hopefully we will be back next week as normal, apologies for the short notice.

Wednesday Track Session 1st July

A good session last week in the heat, it will be a good bit cooler this week but hopefully dry. Going to go for 1600s this week. If done properly this is a tough session but it is a great conditioner particularly for anyone going longish. As with other weeks we are in the middle of the race season, many people will have done either Blackwater or Wicklow last weekend and this coming weekend we have Hell of the West and the Youghal races....

Wednesday Track Session 24th June

Looks like it will be a warm evening on Wednesday so bring your water bottle. It's back to 800s this week, 6 x 800m with 400m easy recovery jog. Session Easy warm up Dynamic stretch Strides 6 x 800m with 400m easy recovery jog Cool down Usual arrangements, session starts at 7:00pm on the track in the UCC Sports Complex on the Mardyke. There are changing and shower facilities in the pavilion adjacent to the track. There is no parking inside the complex for participants

After the mixed session last week this week we are reverting to a single distance with 400m repeats. Very aware that a large number of of members will be doing Jailbreak in Cobh at the weekend, as usual it is up to individuals to decide where they are in terms of race preparation and possibly recovery from either Ballinskelligs or Galway last weekend....

We have been told that the track will be reopened on Wednesday after checks by the company doing the lining. Just to be certain assume we will be on the track if there is any late change it will be posted on the club WhatsApp chats. We will start back with a basic set that we have done on a few occasions....
