**U12 Football**
On Tuesday evening, 23rd June, our U15 girls put in a fantastic performance despite the scorching temperatures. ☀️🥵
The girls played four 12½-minute games, with plenty of water breaks to keep everyone safe in the heat. They adapted brilliantly to the conditions, worked hard for each other, and let the ball do the work with some excellent passages of play throughout the evening.
It was a great team performance, with every player giving their all despite the challenging weather. Well done, girls – a brilliant effort from everyone involved! 👏❤️🤍
🏆 U15 Camogie League Final – Castlemartyr vs Castlelyons 🏆
Yesterday our U15 Camogie team travelled to Castlelyons for the League Final on an exceptionally hot day. The soaring temperatures made for very difficult playing conditions, and the game demanded enormous effort, fitness and determination from both teams from start to finish.
Playing into the sun in the opening half, Castlemartyr created plenty of chances but were just wide with a number of early efforts. Castlelyons opened the scoring before Castlemartyr settled into the game and got on the scoreboard. What followed was a fiercely contested first half, with every player giving their all and battling tirelessly for every ball despite the intense heat.
The second half was just as demanding. Castlemartyr came out strongly after the break and struck for three excellent goals. The first came from a superb effort that dropped over the goalkeeper and into the net, while two further goals followed as the girls continued to apply pressure and make the most of their chances. Those goals helped Castlemartyr build a six-point lead and looked to have put them in a strong position.
However, Castlelyons responded with great determination and gradually chipped away at the advantage. A goal from a free in front of the posts reduced the gap to just two points and set up a tense finish. Despite tiring conditions, both teams continued to battle for every ball. As the game entered the closing stages, Castlelyons drew level before edging ahead in the final moments. The final whistle brought a heartbreaking end to a fantastic contest.

While the result didn't go our way, the girls can be immensely proud of themselves. Not one player stopped pushing, working and believing. In one of the hottest games they are ever likely to play, their effort, determination and teamwork were outstanding from the first whistle to the last.
After the match, the girls enjoyed some lovely food from O'Reilly's and showed great character in the way they handled the disappointment.
Congratulations to Castlelyons on their victory and thank you for a great game. A special word of thanks to Tom Quirke, the management team and an extremely talented Castlelyons U15 side for a memorable final played in great spirit.
A huge thank you to our coaches Caroline, Donal, Ger and Zita for all their hard work, commitment and dedication throughout the year. Thanks also to Ultan and Killian for umpiring, and to all the parents, families and supporters who travelled and cheered the girls on every step of the way.
To every one of our players – you were outstanding. Hold your heads high. You left everything on the field and represented your club with pride, determination and heart. We are incredibly proud of you and look forward to seeing what the future holds for this talented group.

Castlemartyr U16s v Bishopstown U16s – League Quarter Final
Castlemartyr welcomed Bishopstown to a home game this evening, for the U16 League Quarter Final on a bright and warm evening. With several injuries affecting the squad and only three players on the age, the girls knew they faced a huge challenge against a strong Bishopstown side.
Playing against the wind in the first half, Castlemartyr showed tremendous determination from the throw-in. The game was played at a high intensity, with both teams producing excellent football and moving the ball well up and down the pitch. A superb goal at each end, along with three points apiece, left the sides level at the break after a fiercely competitive opening half.
The battle continued throughout the second half, with neither side willing to give an inch. Bishopstown managed to build a lead, but the Castlemartyr girls refused to give up. Trailing by five points with just seven minutes remaining, they mounted a remarkable comeback effort. A fantastic goal reignited hopes, quickly followed by a point, leaving just a single score between the teams.
Despite their heroic efforts, time ran out and Bishopstown held on for a narrow victory.

A huge thank you to Martin and his panel for a sporting and competitive game. Thanks also to Keith and Ultan for officiating, and to Caroline,Ger, Zita, Patrick and Donal for all their work and commitment throughout the season.
Most importantly, well done to this fantastic group of young Castlemartyr girls. Their courage, teamwork and never-say-die attitude were on full display against a very talented Bishopstown team. We are incredibly proud of every one of them and of the huge performance they delivered.
