Congratulations to the Ladies who are through to the final of the National competition with another fabulous win. Goals from Louise and Caitlin and outstanding performances from the whole team will give us another day out in 3 weeks time for the Final.

🏆 **MUNSTER FA WOMEN’S CUP | FULL TIME**

**Benfica WFC 2–3 Wilton United (AET)**

What a game. What a performance. What a result. 🔵⚪

Wilton United proudly represented Cork in the Munster FA Women’s Cup and came away with a deserved victory after an incredible 110 minutes of football.

Wilton dominated large parts of the first half but couldn't find the breakthrough. Caitlin O’Sullivan hit the post, Lydia Looney was denied by a brilliant save from the Benfica goalkeeper, and Jane Mulvihill saw another effort narrowly sail wide.

The second half continued in much the same way, with Wilton pushing forward. Robyn Murphy was unlucky to see her header drift just wide on 60 minutes, before Jane Mulvihill again forced an excellent save from the Benfica keeper.

Benfica struck first from a corner on 74 minutes, but Wilton responded immediately. Caitlin O’Sullivan found the net directly from a corner to make it 1–1. Game on.

Neither side could find a winner in the remaining minutes, sending the game into extra time.

And this is where Wilton really kicked on. 💪

Caitlin O’Sullivan turned provider, delivering the ball into the box for Leah Murphy to arrive at the back post and smash home to make it 2–1.

Just two minutes later, Player of the Match Caitlin O’Sullivan produced a moment of individual brilliance. Picking the ball up inside her own half, Caitlin drove forward, dribbled all the way into the Benfica box and finished decisively to make it 3–1.

Benfica weren't finished and pulled another goal back with six minutes remaining, setting up a tense finale. But Wilton stood strong, defended brilliantly and saw out the game to become **deserving winners**.

A fantastic team performance from start to finish. The defensive unit of hazel walsh Jesse Mendez Ciara O'Connell and Louise Burke were outstanding throughout, repeatedly snuffing out Benfica attacks when it mattered most backed up with Lauryn Murphy in goal making some fantastic saves at crucial moments.
The midfield duo
of Emma O'Connor and Barbara O'Connell controlled the game throughout.
