Our Mairead has been working hard on introducing floor curling to various other organisations, throughout the Di**le Peninsula and beyond over the summer months. As we took a small break from curling in the Bantry area (soon to restart) our coaches have been holding training sessions, the odd match and spending a lot of time introducing people to this wonderful game which is completely suitable for any and all abilities.
Please read the poster as there will be a curling demonstration and taster session at this event in Listowel on September 18. A terrific way to see if it’s something you would like to do, you can get the information then and hopefully come and join us in one of our curling venues. 

We are so excited and so tremendously pleased to hear that our wonderful Clon Jester David Keohane has secured a position in the Pizza production in Carbery Group in Ballineen area. We applaud all local businesses who have signed up to take on staff of all abilities thus giving these young people an opportunity heretofore unavailable to them. Welldone Dave and congratulations to Carbery, your investment in this young man will be paid back in spades. See you at training Dave 🏉

Huge congratulations to 3 of our ladies players who have been given the fabulous opportunity to join the MARI’s on their next tour to Wales. What an honour for them and for The Jesters. This is a tremendous achievement and recognition for our mixed ability ladies rugby team. We are so proud and wish them all the luck in the world when they travel to Wales in October 👏

This is a very special birthday to celebrate today, one of our most important Jesters that we have. Certainly one of a few very influential ones, without doubt the most dedicated, definitely amongst a handful of Jesters who have been there from the very beginning, and actually from where the whole idea of the west Cork Jesters came from, as you know it all started with Tag Rugby and the dream went on from there and we find ourselves in the most enviable of positions now. So ….happy birthday Martin Dullea, Captain fantastic, leading from the front, always so encouraging, especially to our newer members, seriously, what would we do without you? You are super helpful in every single way that you can be, so involved in anything to do with the Jesters, you even took to the cat walk once for us! We just want to say have a fantastic day you deserve the best birthday. 

We would like to say a massive thank you firstly to our beyond wonderful Joy who organised the recent Jumble sale in St. Brendan’s, she took on an awful lot in the organisation, was practically overwhelmed by the response of the most fantastic donations of which she sorted out and had displayed so attractively at the sale last Friday. May we thank all those who donated, and all those who attended and supported but especially a huge thank you to all the wonderful local businesses who supported her and helped along the way. Your kindness, generosity and support mean so much to Joy ❤️

🎂 🎂 🎂 Today we say a special happy birthday to Mairead Cronin, who is one of our long time Jesters, there is no one more invested in the Jester movement than Mairead, Mam to the legend Stiofán, top class coach Mícheál, our 5 🌟 friend, player and facilitator Orlaith, Aisling our musician, Killian and Darragh our 2 energetic young boxers and outstanding young sportsmen, wife to our ridiculously dedicated Mike, what would we do without them all? Thank you so much for all your hard work. It is very appreciated.
Mairead has, since the spring taken up the job of our chief floor curling Coach and has really developed this wonderfully totally inclusive sport, recently setting up a match in Di**le, the wonderful thing is that so many people are enjoying being part of this curling group as they find it an easy sport to take part in they feel very welcome. You are able to play at your own ability, some people are very competitive others love the social side of it. It’s been a huge success. So we wish Mairead a really happy day 🎈

We have wonderful people in our Jester family and none more so than Joy, an embodiment of generosity, always giving to others, never forgetting a birthday or a celebration, never asking for anything in return, so I’m asking for something for Joy and that’s your support. She’s been selflessly working away all summer gathering items together for her upcoming Jumble and bric a brac sale on August 14th. The Jesters are the beneficiaries so it’s a double whammy, Support for Joy which in turn supports the Jesters!
If all you can do is spread the word then please do that for us 🙏🏼 but ideally we’d love you to gather your friends and get along and buy yourself a few bargains at her fundraiser 👏

Very excited to share with you all that our Curling sessions are going from strength to strength, so much interest in this all inclusive sport. A few days ago the first official mixed abilty Curling tournament took place in Di**le with participants from West Cork Jesters and Camphill Di**le, a wonderful day of meeting new friends and learning new skills amongst the excitement of an organised competition which in turn highlights the accessibility and inclusion that this sport provides. We want to thank our newly qualified Curling coaches Orlaith Cronin and Joy Robinson who were crucial to the success of this event 👏
