Drogheda Boys & Girls FC

Drogheda Boys & Girls FC Drogheda Boys FC was established in 1985 to provide schoolboys/girls with the highest standard of football coaching & playing facilities.

Drogheda Boys & Girls FC is proud to cater for players of all ages – from the year they turn 5, right through to senior football. Our youngest members begin their journey in our fun and inclusive Kindergarten Sessions, designed to give children a love for the game in a safe and supportive environment. Our teams compete at every level of the game, proudly representing the club in the Dublin & District Schoolboy League (DDSL), the Eastern Women’s Football League (EWFL), and the Leinster Senior League (LSL). Based at Marley’s Lane on the southside of Drogheda, our facilities include two full-sized pitches, a 9-a-side pitch, a 7-a-side pitch, and floodlit training areas that can accommodate multiple teams at once. Our all-weather astro-turf facility is a vital resource, especially during the winter months. At Drogheda Boys & Girls FC, our vision is to develop confident, creative players in a positive and inclusive environment. We place the emphasis on fun, learning, and long-term player development, ensuring every child – regardless of ability – is given the opportunity to reach their potential. Our coaches follow a clear curriculum designed to support skill progression, teamwork, and a lifelong love of the game, while always putting the player at the centre of everything we do.

⚽️ U13.1 MATCH REPORT | DBGFC 1–5 DONACARNEY FC

A bright start from the boys as they put plenty of our work from training into practice. 👏

Donacarney took an early lead, but the boys responded brilliantly. Senan O’Beirn pressed the Donacarney goalkeeper, won possession and calmly finished to make it 1–1 five minutes before half-time — his third goal of the season! ⚽️🔥

The second half proved tougher, with missed chances and mistakes in transitional moments allowing Donacarney to score four unanswered goals.

Despite the result, the boys battled right to the end. 💪

⭐ Player of the Match: Jack Lynch

Jack was excellent once again, with a fantastic work rate both with and without the ball. 👏

Plenty to take into training this week. We go again! 💙

🥊 Proud of our 2014 Claret Boys: Sasha & Conor! 🥊

🏆 Sasha Donica is the Cuchulainn International Box Cup Champion 2026! He was down after the first round of the final, then fought back to win by unanimous decision. Serious heart! 👏

🔥 Conor Campbell won his first ever Dublin League bout at the National Stadium after a tough battle. A brilliant start!

The lads are representing local boxing club Tredagh Boxing Academy. Both lads bring that fitness, discipline and belief back to the team every week. They're great proof that playing more than one sport makes you a better athlete and teammate.

Well done, boys!

☕️ HOT CHOCOLATE NEEDED! 🔴🔵

Our 2015 DDSL squad making the most of a wet Sunday morning! 🌧️☕️

After their game in Glasnevin was called off due to the torrential rain, the lads were absolutely soaked — so a hot chocolate was definitely needed to warm them back up! 😂

Great to see so many happy faces despite getting drenched and missing out on their game. 👏

Sometimes football doesn’t go to plan… but hot chocolate helps! ☕️😄

⚽ 2011 CLARETS | MATCH REPORT 🔴🔵

DBGFC 1 Cherry Orchard 5

A tough afternoon for our 2011 Clarets DDSL squad, who were beaten by a strong Cherry Orchard side that dominated the first half.

It was definitely a game of two halves, though, as Drogheda came out after the break with a completely different attitude and much more determination.

The lads put in a much-improved second-half performance, showing good character, better intensity and plenty of positives that will give them confidence as they continue to progress through the season. 💪⚽

The result wasn't what we wanted, but the response in the second half is something we can build on.

Keep working, keep improving — we go again! 🔴🔵
