Life's been having lots of highs and lows the last while, but these last few months have been so nice having family around, weddings, wellness festivals and simple times with family and friends ❤️

Some things that are taking up a lot of space in my mind right now...

Running a business - Financial worries, the deep knowing that I'm on the path that I want to be, but the worries of money and ever increasing cost of living.

My health - Feeling dizzy, concerns about upcoming MRI, dermatologist, being so lethargic, continuous bloods etc. when the thoughts come in, they spiral!

Motherhood - Continuously wondering if I'm doing enough, present enough, teaching him enough, feeding him the right food, that never ending feeling of guilt that comes with motherhood!!

Spending too much time on my 📱

I know I'm not alone with all of this. So many people I talk to are worried about finances, feeling that strain and not having money to do the stuff they want. Groceries costing an arm and a leg, feeling guilty for putting something in the trolley that's considered a treat or getting a takeaway.

So many mothers resonate with the guilt and the pressure to have it all figured out all while doing motherhood for the first time.

If this is you too, know your not alone ❤️

Anyhuu Here's a little dump of what I've been up to, although my brain can be a little too busy at times, I've managed to switch off and enjoy lots of moments lately ✨

Anyone else do this?

Our brains have a funny way of trying to make sense of a situation or prepare us for every possible outcome that we end up spiraling to the worst possible scenario.

Sometimes I have to laugh at my thought pattern and how prepared it can make me and other times I want to tell it to flip off!!

The best way for me to get out of my head is to get out for a walk, throw on a good podcast or do some breathing.

Here's your little reminder that if you're in your head today, you're not alone, grab your headphones, get some fresh air, slow down your exhales and put down this device! 🙃

Lately, I have been all about slowing down and trying to be more present in my day to day.

When I am out for a walk with my toddler, instead of rushing him, I just let him explore. I keep reminding myself that we are not in a hurry and we have nowhere to be.

So often we rush around.

We rush our daily tasks. We rush driving home just to sit and scroll on our phones. We rush getting the shopping. We rush in the shower. We rush when we are eating.

What are we actually rushing for? That is what I have been asking myself lately.

At the same time, I still find myself getting total task paralysis at home.

I look at a mess, or stuff that needs cleaning and tidying, and my brain freaks out. It does not see one simple job. It breaks it down into a million small tasks that feel overwhelming.

I end up thinking it will take forever, so I do not even start. Then things just build up even more.

Something that really helps me is setting a timer.
I tell myself I will just do what I can in that set time, and then stop.

Most of the time, getting started gives me momentum and I keep going. Or I surprise myself and finish the whole thing in minutes.

Does this ever happen to you?

We live with so many distractions now. We struggle with simple things that our parents' generation would never even see as a problem.

If you try the timer trick, just watch your breathing.
I used to panic trying to beat the clock. I would hold my breath, brace my back, and end up sore. Now I focus on taking slow, deep breaths. A simple 4-6 count works wonders: inhale for four seconds, exhale for six.

If you want to feel a bit more present this weekend, I am running a Conscious Connected Breathwork session this Sunday at 9:30 am at The Yoga Yard, Clonmel.

It is designed to drop you out of your head and back into your body.

When we feel overwhelmed or stuck in task paralysis, our nervous system is usually stuck in survival mode. Bringing yourself back to a state of safety starts with your breath.

I cannot wait to welcome you onto the mat.
