Shame it didnt last long due to gearbox failure on stage 8. However the Peugeot felt great, up until that point. After a dissapointing year it was nice to be fighting for a podium position before we retired!
After the gearbox failure, we need some time to ensure everything is correct with the car before we see the stages again! So we'll not be competing at the Ulster rally.
I wouldnt have been able to compete at the Ypres rally if it wasnt for the guys at Race and Rally helping out with last minute issues.

Been a while since any posts!
But after a difficult start to the year, we’re back in Ypres with a Peugeot 208 R2!
A rally I really enjoy and looking forward getting to grips with the new car!
There’s many people to thank to get to this point, Especially the guys Race and Rally for helping sort all the last minute parts!

Well the West Cork Rally certainly lived up to expectations! A tricky event from the outset but thoroughly enjoyable and enjoying being on the pace, however a small mistake from me on the first day cost us any chance of a decent result.
So day 2 was ideal conditions to really press on and see what the car can do down the Irish lanes. But unfortunately Lady Luck wasn’t with us and we had electrical failure on the days first stage.
Plenty of positives to take away from this event, Just unlucky position to be in with two rounds gone and no points. But we’ll regroup and draw a line and move forward with the Pirelli International Rally next month, round 3 of the British Rally Championship.
Thanks to the main man in the right hand seat, spot on job all weekend and keeping us on the tar! And the team for repairing the car after my small mishap on Saturday.

Tough first day yesterday in west cork for us, after being on the pace for the first 3 stages, we had an unfortunate spin on a section of mud on stage 4 and caught the front end of the car which resulted in a split boost pipe so we crawled through the stage and lost considerable time. We managed to get back to service and the team did a fantastic job of sorting the car for the remaining stages
But the rally is fantastic and the stages are mega! now we’re 9th in the juniors so the aim of today is to press on and see some good times and most importantly enjoy the rest of the rally!

After a successful test and recce for both Jordan and Ruairi, we are all set for probably the toughest challenge of the year...two days of the British Rally Championship West Cork Rally.
15 stages and over 200km of competitive driving lies ahead for the EDSL Sport Fiesta R2 pilots and we are looking forward to seeing how it performs in the Irish lanes tomorrow.

Having completed the recce now, we are ready for the West Cork Rally! After a short test on Wednesday we found a suitable set up for these Irish lanes! The stages are very fast in places and require a lot of commitment and technical in others, so the notes are very crucial here!
But we’re looking forward to the event and seeing how M-Sport’s new fiesta gets on!
