Our U8s hosted Monastervin tonight at Villa. Close game well battled by both teams. Some great skill displayed by all.

Someday they’ll surprise us with a professional line up for the team photo.

UNDER 8

Our under 8's took on Sallins in a Friday night fixture in Coláiste Lorcáin on Friday night last.
They're clearly developing and improving, and are a very enthusiastic and energetic group who are really enjoying their first forays into football!

A couple of observations present themselves with this squad photo - firstly that's either the new stand in the back of the church or a photo of the Nou Camp because the photo didn't exactly fit the template - we'll let you decide.

And secondly, huge congrats to the coaches - not just for instilling a love of football into these youngsters but getting them into a group for this particular photo - and we quote "Herding sheep is easier" 🤣🤣

In all seriousness, we're incredibly proud of the strides our underage section has taken in recent years, and we're all thrilled to see this newest and youngest Villa team take the field.

UNDER 11

The lads travelled away to Sallins on Saturday, for what turned out to be a cracking match. It was end to end for the whole game, both teams on top when going forward.

Sallins started strongly lads kept their heads and game was really tight at half time. That pattern was repeated in the second half with both teams playing great attacking football, and very little between them at the end of the game.

UNDER 16 GIRLS

Our ladies played out of their skin to earn a 2-1 win against Allenwood over the weekend in the Youth league.

A brilliant display of positivity and teamwork from every player today. Goals from Lucy's corner took the girls into a leading position, with Kyia's goal shortly following. Allenwood fought back but today was Villa's day.

So many good performances today but POTM awarded to Lucy for her corner and hard work all over the pitch.

UNDER 10 WHITE

Well done to our white team on Saturday after their game against Kildare town.
It was a tough enough day for our lads against a good Kildare team , some very exhausted players on the field by the end.

It was a very close game with nothing separating the teams at half time.

Coach Stephanie remarked after the game "We scored some excellent goals with great teamwork and tracking back".

UNDER 12 BLUE

Saturday saw a great battling win for the u12 blue team, showing great heart to come back from 1-0 down.

2 great goals from David today after some great play from the entire team.

Coach Melissa commented afterwards - "After going 1-0 down, they battled hard to get the win. I'm delighted for the boys today, they definitely deserved the win."

U12 SHIELD

A fantastic display of true grit and sheer determination to get the win, in a closely contested semi final against a skilful and fast Sallins side.

Villa started the game with confidence, on the front foot, putting constant pressure on Sallins, a team that put 5 past us at the start of the season.
The pressure paid off, Evan took the ball from deep and drove up the wing, getting the cross in from the left, Peter on the pitch 3 minutes, arrived in perfect timing meeting the ball, getting ahead of the defender to slot it nicely past the keeper, making it 1-0 Villa on the 23rd minute and indeed left it 1 nil at the break.

Villa started the second half in fine form, however Sallins upped their tempo and pressure, having multiple chances to pull level, only for keeper Ivan to put in a superb performance to repel the away side.
He was in fine form today and was unbeatable, he snuffed out everything they threw at him. Sallins came close hitting the post, only for our lads to clear their lines with last ditch tackles and clearances.

Villa had multiple counter attacks with chances from Conan and Evan to make it 2, but Sallins defended well.
For last 5 minutes Villa parked the bus absorbing the pressure and clearing everything to take the win.
Game ended Villa 1 - 0 Sallins
Goal Peter.
Man of the match performance from Ivan to keep Villa in it and to take us to a well deserved final against Kilcock.
