LOOK WHAT Y'ALL DID!!!!!!!!!
This is what your support for Looping the Loop has done. Real money, turned into real equipment, bringing real benefits to people living with MS.
Part of the money raised has helped fund equipment for MS Ireland’s ongoing efforts to refit their Resource Centre in Limerick, including a recumbent bike, cuff weights, balance equipment, a strength and dexterity physio bundle, and a dumbbell set. These are practical supports that will help people living with MS work on their strength, mobility, balance, dexterity, and independence in a fully accessible gym, with physiotherapist-led exercise programmes available at the centre.

It is honestly so heartwarming to see the fundraising taking shape in such a tangible way. Every row pulled, raffle line sold, cake baked, etc., helped make this happen.

Marty was very determined from the beginning that the money would be spread carefully and used in a targeted way. And, as anyone who knows him will confirm, the man LOVES a spreadsheet! Excel is his middle name! Rest assured, as the funds reach the objectives he had in mind when he first came up with this loopy idea, they will go exactly where they were intended.

This is the first of what will be a series of thank yous because, honestly, every time we sit down to write a list, we get a bit misty-eyed, realise how many people helped us, and then worry that we have forgotten someone! If we do forget anyone here, please forgive us. ❤️

This is a quick one to thank our brilliant prize-givers. We held the raffle last Saturday, all the winners have been contacted, and many already have their prizes.

A huge thank you to all the businesses featured in the attached graphic. Please give them a big thumbs-up because they were incredibly generous to us.

We tried very hard not to approach small businesses we had asked before. But then, would you believe it, many of them contacted us! That was the kind of wave we surfed throughout this whole fundraiser.

And think of those beautiful burgers and sausages at the Landing Party. We didn’t even ask for them. Hickie’s Victuallers simply donated them.

WHATTTT? Ah, stop! ❤️

Thanks also to Amigos for the loan of the barbie, and, of COURSE, to the FABBDABBA CDA for allowing us to hold the Landing Party there. It was ideal. We are SOOOOOOO grateful! 🙏🏻 🙏🏻🙏🏻

The cheque might be the big, toy cardboard variety, but the money it represents is very real! 💶

Marty was delighted to accept this very special delivery from the brilliant crew at A Post Commerce Business Solutions in Kilrush. They are the people working behind the scenes, providing specialist business support, call-centre services, scanning, digital archiving, and all sorts of tailored solutions for businesses.

When their management heard about Looping the Loop, they suggested a cake sale and offered to match whatever the crew raised. SWEET! Now, if that is not a stamp of approval, we do not know what is!

Thank you so much to everyone who baked, bought, organised, contributed, and matched the proceeds. You truly delivered, and you made a huge impression on our final total. Soz about the sugar rush you may all have had to endure! 🧁 🎂 🍰

Want to know how much we raised Looping the Loop? Right, it’s a wet, grey, rainy Sunday. What else are ye going to be doing? We’re going to make ye watch this video right to the very end to see our FINAL TOTAL! 😂
Remember, we set out hoping to raise €20,000. Did we do it? Maybe we did, and maybe we didn’t… You’ll have to watch and see!
Yesterday afternoon in Morrissey’s, Carrigaholt, (gorge it was, complete with a dahlia on each table, food and our posters up on the wall!!) we announced all of our raffle winners before the big reveal. We wanted to do everything as transparently as possible, while also giving our wonderfully generous prize donors the shout-out they deserve.
This is the shorter version of the video, but if you want to see all the shenanigans, every detail, and the full raffle draw, you can watch the loooong version on our YouTube later this week.
What a brilliant afternoon it was! Morrissey’s pulled out all the stops, as usual. What a place, what a crowd, and what a vibe. The whole thing was absolutely fabadababba!
Thank you so, so much to every single person who supported us, donated, bought tickets, gave prizes, helped out, turned up, shared our posts, or played any part whatsoever. Once again, we are completely blown away.
We’ll publish the full list of raffle winners in our next post, along with an image showing all the logos of our incredibly generous prize donors.

Well now. We can finally say this much...
Looping the Loop has officially passed its €20,000 fundraising target!

We are still counting, checking, and waiting for the few ducks to get themselves in a nice neat row and behave themelves, so we are not announcing the full figure just yet. As a CLG, we have to account for every last cent, and we want to be absolutely certain that everything is spot on before sharing the final total.

But €20,000 has been passed. That much is official.

And now? Well, the next big milestone is beginning to look rather interesting...

Could Looping the Loop reach €25,000?

Our raffle draw will take place within 2 weeks, and we will record and share it on our social media. Once the raffle is complete, every amount is checked, and all our ducks are being the good little ducks we know they can be, we will reveal the final total.

For now, we just wanted you to know that together, you have taken this fundraiser beyond the target we set for it.

More than €20,000 for MS Ireland. It’s kinda…..QUACKERS! 🦆

That is some achievement for one small rowing club, one extraordinary small community, and one rather large ambitious idea. Thank you. We are not quite finished yet.

Here’s a lovely Heritage Week event happening in Carrigaholt next Wednesday, 19th August.

Carrigaholt Development Association, together with the River Basin Management Service (formerly the Local Authority Waters Programme), are hosting a walk and talk around Carrigaholt’s Wetlands Project.

There’ll be an update on how the project is progressing, and local historian Robert Brown will bring us back through the history and heritage of Carrigaholt and the Moyarta River.

A great chance to learn a bit more about what’s happening on our doorstep, and about the story of the river and wetlands that have shaped the area.

A big bail Ó Dhia ar bhur n-obair to our prize-givers!
We want to take a moment to properly lionise the brilliant businesses and individuals who donated prizes for our “Buy a Line” raffle cards.

WHY?
Well, we have a very particular view when it comes to sponsorship. Behind every business are families, employees, and real people working damn hard to keep things going. When those businesses support our clubs, charities, and community groups, we believe we owe it to them to return that support. Simple as that.
So, when you are spending your money, please remember those that look out for local clubs and associations. Choose them when you can. Recommend them. Give them a follow. It is a two-way street, and local support has to travel in both directions.
We will be back over the next week or so with the raffle results, and we will also reveal the final total raised by Looping the Loop.
For now, we are still decompressing from that incredible weekend. A bit lost for words, if we are honest, but full of all the good feelings. In other words, we can kinda walk the walk but just not talk the talk!!! LOL!
For now though, to every single person who gave us a prize: thank you. We saw your generosity, we appreciated it, and we will remember it. 🏁🖤🤍
