As our annual regatta weekend approaches we received the sad news today of the passing of our long time supporter and friend of Carrick on Shannon Rowing Club Mr. Eamon Cooke RIP, Kells Co. Meath

On Regatta day Eamon would never be far from the finish line watching crews and catching up with friends old and new on the Quays. A poet of note and a gentleman for all who were fortunate to cross his path.

We pass on our condolences to Joanna, Fred, Tim and the extended Cooke family at this time and think also of Tim's wife Mary and the Holt family who have lifetimes of involvement and association with our club.

As we build up to our annual regatta on Sunday, a fabulous photo shared by Portadown Boat Club this morning of a Carrick Regatta winning crew from 1943.

If there are any more old photos from Carrick Regatta or your memories from visiting the club over the years we'd really love to see them so feel free to share them in the comments below. We are redeveloping our club website and have some of our own photos uploaded to that so have a look.
