I actually struggle to put into words just how incredible the last two weeks have been for Meara. ❤️
Today, she and Harry won the 1m Championship class at Mullingar, and I couldn’t be prouder.
The result is amazing, but the journey makes it even more special. Just over two and a half years ago I met Meara and her pony Bullet. She has worked tirelessly, trusted the process, and listened to me ramble on week after week! Up until this year she has only ever jumped around courses of upto 80cm and in just seven months with Harry, they’ve become a fantastic partnership.
The last fortnight has been extraordinary. After Harry couldn’t compete in the Pony Club John Ledingham, Meara jumped a horse she’d only ridden once before to qualify with the team in May, then rode another she’d only sat on once in the finals, producing a brilliant round over a hugely technical 1m track. She then finished 4th in the 1.10m Pony Club Senior championships with Harry, before topping it all off by winning today’s highly competitive SJI 1m Championship.
None of this has happened by chance. It’s the result of years of hard work, resilience, and a willingness to learn. A huge thank you also to her parents and her very supportive sister Isla, who have trusted the process and supported Meara every step of the way.
This really feels like it’s only the beginning. Congratulations, Meara and Harry – you thoroughly deserve every success. ❤️🐴
