Our U16 girls welcomed Castlelack FC to Kealkill on Saturday evening for a West Cork Schoolboys and Schoolgirls League match.
In an entertaining match Rovers took the points with our opening goal coming from Penelope with Pippa, Michaela, Katie and Issy added to the tally.

The Juniors season started today with a WCL Parkway Cup match away to Skibbereen.

Plenty of new faces started their first game for us today, Carlos who got our first goal, Marcos was excellent in goal and two from our U18s squad Chris O'Shea and Padraig O'Sullivan were both outstanding. Shane Sullivan and Joey O'Sullivan both put in a big shift as well when we needed it.

After Carlos scored the opener Skibbereen came back and went 2-1 up. Then towards the end of the 2nd half James Desmond sprinted 25 yards to chase down a back pass their clearance ricochet off James and into the net to make it 2-2.

No goals in extra time so it went to penalties. Paddy Cronin, Ryan O'Boy, Dan Andrews, James Desmond and Calvin Cronin all scored which meant we won 5-4 and into the next round.

That was for Barry O'Shea who suffered a broken leg in our pre season friendly on Wednesday

Bay Rovers put in a clinical performance on Saturday, securing a great victory over Ardfield in an energetic contest in Clonakilty.

Bay Rovers set the tone early with crisp passing and great 1-2s in the final third, capitalising well on their scoring opportunities. Despite the scoreline Ardfield showed great determination, continuing to work hard in midfield and earning a well-worked goal of their own in the second half.

The front line of Rory Murnane, Lucas Forde, Morgan Coleman and Johnnie Russel in centre midfield had a day remember with goals all round but every one of them also providing assists.

Massive credit must also go the Shane Culloty in goals, Billy Triggs-Sharkey, Danny Murphy, Barra Sheehan in the back line and Shay Leahy in midfield as well as who’s defending was immense all day.

On Sunday last Carlos from Kairós Zen —Hair Studio— ran a soccer tournament with 8 teams involved out at our Bay Rovers AFC pitches.
A very well run tournament with Club Maritime running out the winners on the day beating the Kairós Zen team in the final.
3rd/4th place saw the Golden Oldies beat the Bantry Inn team.
Well done to all involved and thanks to the referees who gave up their time on the day Colin Clancy and Tadgh O’Sullivan.

Our club lotto took place last night.

Numbers drawn were 8, 12, 18 & 20.

Unfortunately there was no main winner.
The three lucky dip winners of €50 each were Finbarr O’Shea, Gene McCarthy and Sheila Walsh.

Bay Rovers U11 played away Tuesday night against Dunmanway Town Soccer Club in theWest Cork Schoolboys and Schoolgirls League Premier Division .
They fought hard against a very credible side. Well done on a super team performance.

Two of our Bay Rovers AFC U11 team played with the West Cork Schoolboys and Schoolgirls League Academy when they travelled to Belfast last weekend. They represented West Cork with distinction and we are so proud of Oisin Hourihane and Paddy Hegarthy.

Our U12 girls played Drinagh Rangers AFC Monday night in a West Cork Schoolboys and Schoolgirls League match at home in Kealkill.
The girls had a great first half which saw them go in up 2-0 with the first goal coming from Kate O’ Brien with the assist from Taylor which Kate finished clinically.
Our second goal came from Gracie McCarthy with a well taken strike from distance.
The second half saw Rover’s create lots more chances but were unlucky not to add to their tally.
Drinagh themselves tested our defence and goalkeeper well but they were up to the challenge.
Thanks to Drinagh for a good game and to our supporters and to referee Martin Coakley.
Well done to all the girls who are improving week on week and big panel available again for the match and everyone of them contributed.
