We’re off to a great start!
The 3km fun run with Banagher Athletics was a brilliant way to get the blood pumping this morning!

🧘‍♀️ Move, stretch, warm up and slow down by the water. 🧖

As part of the Banagher Pool Community Open Day on Saturday 1st August, we’re inviting the community to enjoy a morning of yoga and sauna sessions as we officially celebrate the opening of our new pool.

At 11am, local teacher Kasia Ferenczuk will guide a light, gentle yoga flow designed to help you loosen up, move comfortably and take a little time for yourself. Just bring your yoga mat. Please DM Kasia Ferenczuk to book. Kasia is also a qualified Neuromuscular and Orthopaedic Therapist.

From 10am, Airidas Dzimidas of AA Sauna will be offering sauna sessions throughout the day - ideal for relaxation and recovery, or simply trying something new. To book -https://www.instagram.com/aa_sauna. Airidas runs regular sauna sessions at Banagher Pool on Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings.

🚣 SOCIAL PADDLE THIS SATURDAY! 🚣

As part of the Banagher Pool Community Open Day, West Offaly Training are hosting a fantastic Banagher Social Paddle from 11am onwards! 🌊

Free activities on the day include:
🛶 Kayak races & challenges
🏆 Canoe Polo competition
🏄 SUPs balance & agility competition
🚣 Kayak trips up the Shannon

All equipment provided - just bring shoes that can get wet, a towel and a packed lunch!

🎉 Banagher Community Pool Open Day - Saturday 1st August! 🎉

Join us for the official community opening of our fantastic new outdoor swimming pool - a celebration of all the incredible fundraising and hard work that made this happen!

The day includes wellness classes, a 3km run, water sports, kayaking, Shannon Poc Fada, a community picnic in the park, our 3.5km swim arriving from Shannon Harbour, and rounding off with the nameplate unveiling and ribbon cutting at 4pm! 🎊

⚠️ PLEASE RESPECT OUR POOL ⚠️

We love seeing the pool so well-used during this beautiful weather! However, this is what volunteers found yesterday evening - litter across the park, vandalised pods, and worst of all, life buoys interfered with. 💔

This is a FREE community facility that we all worked so hard to create together. All we ask is that you enjoy it and leave no trace.

Please:
✅ Take your rubbish home
✅ Don’t vandalise equipment or signage
✅ Leave life-saving equipment alone
✅ Respect the space for everyone

Our pool and park is a family friendly amenity that is open to everyone - let’s all do our part to take care of it! 🏊‍♀️

Share this message widely - it’s disheartening to see our community facility treated this way after all the effort that went into creating it.
