In a sunny Tuam stadium on front of a huge crowd our Minor Team were crowned Minor B North Board Champions for 2026.
Mountbellew had a lot of possession early in the game and led by 0.3 to 0.0 after 15 minutes. It looked like it maybe a tough day for our boys but a purple patch changed the whole game. Points from Christopher Holmes and Riain Healy were quickly followed by 3 goals. A Daniel Kelly rocket hit the net and he followed it up with a penalty after great work from the forwards. Another Daniel, this time O’Connor hit another rocket to the net and Riain Healy split the posts once more. 3.3 to 0.3 and the game had turned on its head. The next two points went Mountbellew-Moyloughs direction to leave half time score at

A solid start to the second half by the boys in blue ment every score for Mountbellew-Moylough was answered with a score to leave daylight between the teams. 2 from Robbie McArdle, 1 from Paul Harkin and after 48 minutes it was 3.6 to 0.7
A goal for Mountbellew-Moylough on 50th minute set up a chaotic finish to the match. That goal was answered by a superb Daniel Kelly point but then bang, another goal and a point for Mountbellew-Moylough sandwhiched another Healy point leaving just 2 in it hitting on 60 minutes. 5 minutes added time to play and the Brendan's boys settled again with man of the match Daniel Kelly hitting another point and Kyle Cahill settling the nerves to put 4 in it. With 6 minutes added time played Mountbellew-Moylough scored a 2 pointer to leave 2 in it but there was no more time for another and St. Brendan's were crowned North Board champions. Heart racing stuff in a hugely entertaining game.

A richly deserved reward for a superb bunch of lads who will now face St. James in the County Final in two weeks time.

A great day for club and parish and a big thank you goes out to all the families and community who came in such big numbers to support the lads.
A big thanks also to all those who lit fires for the boys on the way home. A lovely tradition and hugely appreciated. And to Fallon's for the food and refreshments afterwards and finally to Joey Horan (JH Advice) who sponsored the boys with gear this year.

Well done again to St. Brendan's Minor Team and Management and best of luck in the County Final in two weeks time.
