U14cs drew 4 all with St. Bernard's. We went 3 up but then St. Bernard's scored 4 goals to take the lead. We fought back, equalised and were pushing hard fot the winner. All 4 goals scored by Tiernan Hogan.

The town kicked off the new season with a hard fought win against a very competitive Mervue side.
The game kicked off on a rain drenched pitch and it was the town who settled quickly and took the lead on 7 minutes through Dylan. Bsloe kept the pressure on and were rewarded with a second on 20 minutes through Dylan again. Mervue began to get into the game after this and only some good defending from Logan, Sean, Mickie and Diarmuid and a couple of neat saves from Camo kept the score at 2 nil going into the break.
The half time break served Mervue very well and they started the second half with a lot more purpose and quickly pulled a goal back early on. Tails up now Mervue pushed for the equaliser but found Camo in great form making a series of crucial saves. This settled the town down and they got their 2 goal cushion back with a neat finish from Noah. Another clearance from Diarmuid came to Dylan and he confidently completed his hat trick. To their credit Mervue kept going and pulled 1 back near the finish

A great start for the town with some solid performances from Camo, Logan and Liam but motm must go to Dylan whose pace and direct running leading to his hat trick was the difference today.

Weekend The Galway Football Association Results

BTAFC U 14 B team took to the field for the Opening game of the Season in Division 2 against Colemanstown away. Back to back promotions for this team over the last two seasons winning the league on both occasions. So a big step up to another division.

Town started strongly from the kick off and put pressure on the Colemantowns defense and were rewarded with an early goal after 4 minutes when the keeper saved Harry's shot but Iarlaith followed it in to tap it home.

Town continued to play football, didn't let the home team have many efforts on goal Paddy, Daniel, Jack M and Orin winning their tackles and clearing their lines.

A strong midfield display from Reece and Kyle cause all sorts of problems on the wings getting at the defense and crossing great balls in. Tommy and Aaron in the center saw town dominant on the ball and created several scoring opportunities. Aaron Rocke coming closest with a sweet strike from outside the box come back off the crossbar.

However they were rewarded on 21 minutes when Harry found the back of the net, and again just on the stroke of halftime.

Colemantowns came out fighting in the second half and unlucky not to get a goal back when Nathan came out but didn't fully claim it diving at the no 7s feet allowed them to get a strike away but a excellent reaction save.

Introduction of Noah, brought some more life to town. And 10 minutes into the second half Tommy was awarded a goal. A deserved goal from a captains performance 👏

Colemantowns kept fighting to get a goal back and a ball over the top saw their fast no 7 bearing down on goal only to be denied by another excellent 1 on 1 save from Nathan.

10 minutes later Noah was played through on goal but opted to lay it on a plate for Harry to tap home his hat trick. Aaron Broderick and Aaron Mannions introduction only added more to the game with Aaron B getting himself on the score sheet and Aaron M working tirelessly throughout.

Our under 14 A side got their Premier 2 league campaign up and running with a credible 2-2 draw away to Mervue B earlier today.

Ballinasloe started the game in confident fashion and were the better side in the first half with some excellent passing and movement on display.

They took a deserved lead after 25 mins when a good pass from full back Einin Meehan Donnelly found Jacob Egan wide right.Jacob beat his full back and whipped a great cross to find Freddie Browne who finished in style with a bullet header to make it 1-0 at halftime to the Town.

Mervue to their credit came out a different side and were the better for long periods in the second half.

Ballinasloe defended resolutely with the back four very solid but with 15 mins left Mervue scored two quality goals in quick succession to make it 2-1 to Mervue with 10 mins left.

Huge credit to this young side as they responded magnificently and got a fully deserved equaliser when a great corner from Igor Sadecki lead to a penalty being awarded o Ballinasloe with 5 mins left on the clock.

Upstepped skipper Leighton Keighery to slot home cooly from the spot to make it 2-2.

Best for Ballinasloe Town on the day were Emily Mae Llyod,Einin Meehan Donnelly,Aloijzy Florek and Freddie Browne⚫️🟡
