🇮🇪 🇬🇧 ISAAC OLIVER SELECTED FOR GREAT BRITAIN & IRELAND 🇮🇪 🇬🇧

Ballinasloe Golf Club is delighted to congratulate Isaac Oliver on his selection to represent Great Britain & Ireland in the Jacques Léglise Trophy, taking place at The Island Golf Club this Friday and Saturday.

This is a truly outstanding achievement and one of the highest honours in underage amateur golf.

The Jacques Léglise Trophy is the annual international match between the very best U18 players from Great Britain & Ireland and the Continent of Europe. The calibre of player to have competed in the event speaks for itself, with Jon Rahm, Viktor Hovland, Tommy Fleetwood, Luke Donald, Sergio Garcia and José María Olazábal among those to have played in the match before going on to reach the very top of the professional game.

Isaac now joins that distinguished list of players to have earned selection for this prestigious event.

His place among just nine players selected to represent Great Britain & Ireland is richly deserved and is further recognition of his outstanding performances and steady rise to the top level of U18 golf in Ireland and Europe.

Everyone at the club is extremely proud to see him earn such a prestigious international honour.

We wish Isaac and the entire Great Britain & Ireland team the very best of luck at The Island this weekend as they look to reclaim the trophy for the first time since 2018.

🏆 Stephen Ruane's Captain's Prize 2026 🏆

What a fantastic weekend of golf at Ballinasloe Golf Club as we celebrated Captain Stephen Ruane's Prize.

A huge thank you to our Captain Stephen for his generosity, commitment and hard work all year ans in delivering such a memorable weekend. The course was presented in outstanding condition, the atmosphere was brilliant throughout, and it was a fitting showcase for one of the biggest events of our golfing calendar.

Congratulations to Derek Cusack, who claimed the Captain's Prize after an excellent performance, edging out Kevin Tierney on a tie-break after both finished on 96. A superb achievement and a well-deserved victory.

Well done to everyone who took part over the weekend and helped make it such a success.

Finally, thank you once again to Captain Stephen Ruane, his family, our volunteers, committee members, course staff and everyone who contributed to a fantastic Captain's Prize weekend.
