McCarthy Park is all set for tomorrow’s Tommy Carberry & Trevor McCormack Memorial Cups, where we’ll welcome 20 Under 9 teams from across the Midlands.

A huge thanks to both the Carberry & McCormack families for allowing us to continue this fantastic tradition in remembering two of our former players who left us far too soon.

The blitz has proved hugely popular since changing from an adult to a kids competition in 2024 and we’re looking forward to another great day at McCarthy Park tomorrow.

For anyone with a spare hour or two the action kicks off at 11am with the two finals pencilled in for around 12.45. 🟢⚪️

Our Under 10s Green & White teams welcomed Ballinahown FC to McCarthy Park yesterday on a perfect evening for football!

The lads put on two really entertaining games as they continue to learn the new rules and make the transition from 5-a-side to 7-a-side this season.

There is plenty to look forward to with this group as they continue to develop together.🟢⚪️

The Committee for the 2026/27 season was ratified at our recent AGM, with a clear aim to continue improving standards across every area of our club, both on and off the pitch.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to outgoing committee member Ian Stacey for over a decade of brilliant volunteerism and dedication to the club.

We also welcome long time club supporter Philly Ryan to the committee and look forward to working together for another successful season.

This evening under 8s continued their prep for the upcoming Midlandschoolboysgirls League season when they hosted Temple Villa in two games on our grass pitches. Loads of touches & tackles for the kids, tying laces for the coaches and entertainment for the parents and everyone watching on!! A good night all round!

A squad made up of both our Senior A & B team players made the journey up the M6 to Galway yesterday for a very worthwhile game against a good Galway Hibs side.

It was a good test for the lads with plenty of valuable minutes in the legs as preparations continue for the new CCFL season, which gets underway in just a fortnight. ⚽️

Our penultimate day and we were back on the road again!

The older groups enjoyed a brilliant day at Thomastown Par 3 Golf, Discgolf & Footgolf Athlone, while our younger groups had a great time at Glendeer Pet Farm. Plenty of craic at both locations! 😃

A huge thanks to Hennessy Coaches and to Sean & Stacey in Athlone Garda Station for the use of the Community Bus. We really appreciate the support. 👏

Tomorrow is our final day of our camp and we’re back on home soil in McCarthy Park, where we’ll finish the week with 3v3 AirPitches Longford / Westmeath. ⚽️

⚽️🟢⚪️ Summer Camp – Day 3 🟢⚪️⚽️

Back onto the grass & AstroTurf in McCarthy Park today for Day 3 as we got back into a full day of football!

There was a bit of a competitive edge today as we got stuck into 1v1s, 2v2s, crossbar challenges, penalty shootouts and a Mini World Cup to finish off. 🌍⚽️

A few heavy showers kept everyone nice and cool along the way too! 🌧️

We are out on our travels again tomorrow as the younger kids head to Glendeer Pet Farm while the older boys & girls take on FootGolf in Thomastown!⚽️⛳️

🟢⚪️ Summer Camp – Day 2 🟢⚪️

Today we had a day away from McCarthy Park as we had a well organised and very enjoyable tour of Custume Barracks.

A huge thanks to our former player, Lt Jason Merrigan, 6 Bn and all the soldiers from the various units in Custume Barracks who looked after us so well today.

We are back on the pitch tomorrow as the Summer Camp hits the halfway point! ⚽️
