Congratulations Ellen & Athenry Rounders Club 🙌🏼🙌🏼

Ellen Shaughnessy
Athenry Rounders Club 2026 Juvenile Player of the Year.
Athenry Rounders Club is delighted to announce that Ellen Shaughnessy has been chosen as our Juvenile Player of the Year.
Ellen has enjoyed a fantastic season, producing outstanding performances throughout the year and playing a hugely important role in her team’s success. As a pitcher, she has shown incredible consistency, strength and determination, while her fearless approach to every game has made her a player her teammates could always rely on.
Her performances were instrumental in helping her team battle their way to a 3 in a row of Minor All-Ireland Titles, all the more impressive as she pitched every ball in every match during that 3 in a row run, we believe Ellen may also be the first player to captain 3 consecutive Minor All Ireland winning teams in any of the GAA codes for club or county.
Throughout the season, Ellen showed that she was never afraid of the big moments, stepping up when her team needed her and delivering time and again. Her performance in the All-Ireland final was the perfect example. On the biggest day of the season, Ellen produced an exceptional display, pitching seven innings in a row without conceding a single run. To maintain that level of concentration, accuracy and composure throughout such an important day was an incredible achievement and undoubtedly one of the standout performances of the season.
Strong, fearless and determined, Ellen has been a tremendous player all year, she has shown a fantastic attitude, a willingness to take on every challenge and an ability to perform under pressure when it matters most.
To cap off an already memorable season with a Minor All-Ireland title was a fantastic achievement, and to now be recognised as Juvenile Player of the Year is a fitting reward for the outstanding contribution she has made throughout the year.
Ellen's Rounders career to date, she has played in 6 All Ireland Finals, 2 Community Games National Finals & 2 Connaught Finals and has never lost in a final.
Congratulations Ellen, a thoroughly deserved award for an exceptional season, we are incredibly proud of everything you have achieved and look forward to watching you continue to develop and make your mark in the years ahead.

Registration process for New Members:
1. Register with Basketball Ireland (insurance purposes)
➡️For players over 18 ensure to register as a SENIOR PLAYER ONLY. (Eg:Do not select Social-Ball/Inclusive or any other membership type)

2. Select REGION as GAB’ (Galway Area Basketball)

3. Take note of BIPIN created (your unique basketball Ireland Pin)
➡️ Required in club sign up process

4. Once paid and BIPIN received exit.
5. Click on East Galway Celtics Clubforce registration, follow steps and fill in BIPIN to complete club membership

Existing Members , please register for the new season with BI using your existing BIPIN
➡️ Do NOT create a new account⛔️
Then register with the club as usual ✏️
