Important day in the history of Celtic FC today because on this day in 1997 we appointed Wim Jansen as our manager. Wim had a tall order in front of him. Tommy Burns had been sacked in May after failing to halt their league success but he was cheated at every turn as well.
Wim would continue to build on Tommys work & crucially stop them doing 10 in a row & cheating their way to breaking Jock Steins record. But he would also win the League Cup too & sign Henrik Larsson who of course had a massive impact on Celtic in future years. Wim built a team that would fight for every blade of grass on the pitch & it paid off đŞđłđŹ
Wim was also our very first managerial appointment that had no previous connection to Celtic & that wasn't Irish or Scottish. Johan Cruyff also thought very highly of Wim & that in itself should tell you something.
Thanks for everything Wim...what we owe you is indescribable đłđŹâđłđą

On this day in 2016 Celtic sign Moussa Dembele During his 2 season spell with us he would score 51 times in 94 appearances â˝đŤđˇ
His hat trick against sevco in 2016 was absolutely superb & Moussa would go on to score some of the best & dramatic goals ever witnessed by Celtic fans.
One things for sure...there would have been no Double Treble in particular without him ...What a player âđłđŹ
