Affiliation was made to the golfing Union of Ireland GUI in 1905 under the Captaincy of Mr R Hampton,B.A Head Master of Preston House. The 53rd Abbeyleix Golf Club Open Week begins Friday 10 July with Mens & Ladies Singles Stableford. Nine hole mixed competitions run most evenings from 6.30pm for anyone short on time.

Another new winner this season in the Expert Laois Open.
Brendan Harrington shoots an excellent 42 points and takes the weekly top prize of €100 courtesy of Expert Laois. 6 players finishing with 40 points plus shows there was tough competition out there.

Lady Captain’s Prize Presentation 2026.
A great night was enjoyed by our Ladies Club following the excellent golf on Sunday. Congratulations to all the prize winners and again hearty congratulations to Rosie O’Donnell on taking home the Lady Captain’s Prize.

The Lady Captain’s Prize Sunday 2026.
Our lady members were out to contest Lady Captain Noreen Callanan’s Prize, and they were rewarded with a fine day. The course was in superb condition and the golf was keenly played throughout.
Congratulations to our winner, Rosie O’Donnell, on 2 incredibly well played rounds, and well done to everyone who took part.
