Dive deeper. Explore further.

Shane has added another string to his dive bow, completing his SSI Deep Diving Specialty under the watchful eye of Instructor Wayan.

Because once you've discovered the underwater world, there's always another depth to explore.

Congratulations, Shane - the deep blue awaits!

Surface interval done right.

A couple of divers, a couple of snorkellers, a plate of freshly cooked Nasi Goreng from SeaBucks Warung, and the stunning waters of Menjangan Island.

Sure... there's nothing wrong with the old park boats, especially if you're travelling on a budget...
..if your idea of a peaceful lunch is sharing a deck with twenty of your newest friends.

Or... you could sail with the Pirates who Dive.

We prefer relaxed, smaller groups, good company, great food, and a little room to stretch our sea legs.

After all, your holiday should be relaxing above the water too.

Every great diver starts with a single giant stride.

Congratulations to our newest SSI Junior Open Water Diver, Robin!

Under the patient guidance of Instructor Wayan, Robin has completed his first big adventure beneath the waves and earned his shiny new certification.

The ocean has gained another young explorer, and we can't wait to see where the next tide takes him.

Fair winds and calm seas, Robin. Welcome to the crew - once a Sea Rover, always a pirate!

"You can't see me..."

The frogfish, probably.

Camouflaged to perfection and armed with a tiny fishing rod growing from its head, this curious little character is proof that nature has a wonderful sense of humour.

One moment it's a sponge...

The next... lunch disappears.

Another fantastic encounter beneath the waves with the Pirates who Dive.

Some reefs roar with life and motion.

Others whisper.

Here in Pemuteran, the sea moves to an older rhythm. Soft currents carry divers above coral gardens while sunlight dances across the reef like gold upon a calm tide. No hurry. No noise. Just the steady sound of breathing and the endless blue beyond.

Drifting weightless through these waters, it is easy to forget the world above for a little while.

Sometimes the finest dives are not the dramatic ones.

Sometimes they are simply peaceful.

Another pair of souls claimed by the sea.

Out beyond the mainland, where the walls of Menjangan plunge into blue silence and turtles drift over coral gardens, two new divers took their final breaths as students and surfaced as certified explorers of the underwater world.

There is always something fine about that last training dive. The nerves have faded. Movements grow calm. Buoyancy begins to feel natural. And somewhere between mask clearing, hovering practice, and shared laughter beneath the waves, the ocean stops feeling foreign and starts feeling like home.

Now the real adventure begins.

From this day forward, every coastline holds possibility. Sunken wrecks, drifting manta rays, midnight bioluminescence, reef sharks slipping through the blue, and quiet coral kingdoms hidden beneath the tide. The certification card is not the end of training. It is a key to a far larger world.

A hearty congratulations to our newest certified divers, Antoine and Lisa. With well earned praise to Wayan for guiding new Sea Rovers Brethren safely through their first great step into the underwater realm.

Fair winds, calm seas, and may your dive logs grow thick with stories.

Old sailors once believed turtles carried the wisdom of the sea upon their backs. Watching a hawksbill drift across the reef, ye can almost understand why.

These ancient mariners have sailed tropical oceans for millions of years, weaving through coral gardens long before the first charts were drawn or the first ships took to sea. Unlike green turtles that graze on seagrass, hawksbills are reef wanderers, feeding largely on sponges and helping keep coral ecosystems balanced and healthy.

And what a reef keeper they are.

With their narrow beak, built for reaching deep into cracks and crevices, hawksbills move through the coral with the quiet confidence of a creature that belongs wholly to the tide and stone beneath the waves.

Sadly, they remain critically endangered, threatened by habitat loss, plastic pollution, ghost nets, and the scars left by the old tortoiseshell trade. Every healthy reef that still shelters them feels a little like buried treasure these days.

This one was spotted gliding through the coral gardens here in NW Bali, out at Menjangan Island, unhurried and utterly at home beneath the sunlit shallows.

The sea still keeps its old magic, for those willing to slip beneath the surface and look.
