The Wisdom of an Old Samurai

Under the falling cherry blossoms, an old samurai taught a lesson sharper than any sword: don't let insults control you.

Musashi wrote this in the Water chapter of the Book of Five Rings, and the choice of element was deliberate.

This was Musashi's ideal for the swordsman, and ultimately for any man who wishes to survive what the world sends at him.

Fixation, to Musashi, was not just a tactical error. It was a spiritual one.
