I’ve spent a lot of time wanting certainty. Wanting to know I’m making the right decision. That things are going to work out. That I won’t look back years from now and think, well... that was a terrible idea.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But then I think about how many times my life has completely changed in ways I never could have predicted.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve moved countries. Changed careers. Built businesses. Become a mother. Started over. Changed my mind about things I thought I’d always want. Wanted things I never thought I’d want.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And every time, I figured it out. Not perfectly. Definitely not without fear. But I figured it out.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
100% of the time.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So I’m starting to think that it’s not really about knowing what’s going to happen.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Maybe it’s knowing that whatever happens, I’ll figure it out.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I don’t need to know exactly what my life is going to look like.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I just need to trust myself to make something good out of whatever comes next.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That’s a much more useful kind of certainty for me.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And if you’re in a season of not knowing what’s next, maybe you need this reminder too: you don’t have to have it all figured out. Just trust that you will.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Send this to someone who could use the reminder that she can handle whatever comes next.

I used to think becoming a mom meant giving up my independence.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My time. Hanging out with friends, especially at night. My hobbies. Time to work out. Time to work.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And for a while, I just accepted that.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Until I started feeling like a shell of a person. Like I wasn’t myself.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And I realized… that’s not a way to live.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I can’t actually mother well from a place where I’m constantly putting myself last.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I don’t think becoming a mom means becoming a martyr.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I think we’re allowed to want more. More time for ourselves. More ambition. More fun. More adventure. More of the things that make us feel like us.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We shouldn’t have to choose.

My husband and I have come a long way when it comes to managing the mental load in our family.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And it wasn’t about him just stepping up more with the chores.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I had to change too. I had to stop assuming that if I didn’t do something, no one would. I had to let go of things being done my way.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And we had some pretty uncomfortable conversations about what was actually going on underneath all of it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But we’re in a really different place now (thank god!).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And I have so much more space in my life because of it ✨

Kinda chic to decide who you want to be and become her.

After reinventing my life multiple times, I’ve learned a thing or two about designing a life that actually fits.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To me, life design is really about identity transformation.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And that kind of transformation isn’t easy. It takes support, introspection, reflection, and really getting to know yourself—who you are, what you want, and what you value.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Because with every chapter of your life, those things can change.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Reading these books at different times in my life has helped me become more of an author of my own life and create each chapter with intention.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What books have helped shape the way your life looks today?

Becoming the community leader for Ericeira was the start of me juggling ambition with motherhood.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
At the time, I was still settling into life in Portugal and just coming out of survival mode. I heard postpartum can last two years, and my son wasn’t even two at the time. Maybe even longer when you’re raising a toddler in your 40s.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I decided to step into this leadership role before I was ready. Before I even started growing my business again, because something in me knew it was going to be one of the keys to unlocking my next chapter.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Over the last 1.5 years, I’ve brought female founders, entrepreneurs and creatives together every month to connect, share what they’re building and support each other.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m so glad I listened.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Because in leading this community, I met so many incredible and inspiring women. Not only did it help me business-wise to learn from and connect with them, but it also gave me some of my closest friendships here in Ericeira.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And after moving to a new place, sometimes the most important and meaningful thing is having friendships + community.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You can spend so much time trying to figure out what your next chapter is. But sometimes the way you find it is just to begin. I’m glad I listened to the part of me that told me to start.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m grateful for everyone I’ve met and collaborated with along the way.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here are just a few of the people and businesses who have helped make this community what it is:
