Ostreng is Norwegian Supercar Champ 🇳🇴

Hyundai i20 driver Hans-Joran Ostreng scored his third win from three rounds in the Norwegian Supercar RX series at Gardermoen to secure the title.

Adding the programme to his appearance in Euro RX at Holjes, Ostreng beat Kjetil Larsen (Volkswagen Polo) and Thomas Eek Murstad (FC2) to win the final round, and ultimately headed Kim Roar Johansen (Renault Clio) and Morten Lerdahl (Ford RS200) in the overall standings.

RX3 ➡️ Supercar

Newly crowned Euro RX3 Champion Rytis Gurklys, who claimed the title in the final round of the season in Portugal last weekend, will make his Supercar debut on Saturday.

The Lithuanian driver will compete in the final round of the Latvian-Lithuanian Rallycross Championship at Biķernieki in Riga during the venue’s Night Rallycross event.

Gurklys will swap his Audi A1 Super1600 for a Reinsalu Sport-run Ford Ka+ Active, having tested the car for the first time in Estonia on Thursday.

Seven Supercars are entered for the series’ final round, including Gurklys compatriot and fellow Euro RX competitor, Paulius Pleskovas.

By winning the final round of the season at Kulbilohu just over a week ago, Siim Sundema wrapped up the 2026 Estonian series in style with the title, campaigning his Reinsalu Sport-built Ford Fiesta Supercar.

Teet Vare finished the last final of the year second with an Audi A1 while Raini Roomets completed the podium in a Skoda Fabia to be second in the series standings.

Insane repair! 🔧🔨

After huge damage was sustained to Patrick O’Donovan’s Peugeot 208 WRX in the Euro RX finale at Lousada on Sunday, the chances of his car making it to Barcelona to be shipped to the FIA Rallycross World Cup this week looked bleak.

But, with an incredible effort, making use of the ‘equipment’ available in the paddock, Team RX Racing got to straight to work and by Tuesday morning, the car was straight and ready to go.

The European Rallycross Championship began in 1973, but wasn’t FIA sanctioned until 1976. That first FIA crown was claimed by Franz Wurz in his legendary Lancia Stratos HF.

Last weekend, Kristoffersson Motorsport and driver Johan Kristoffersson claimed the title in the 50th anniversary of the series and with it wrote the Volkswagen Polo 601 RX into the history books once again.

Johan Kristoffersson claimed victory in the penultimate round of Euro RX at Lousada to put one hand on the championship trophy.

Title-rival and pre-event points’ leader Andreas Bakkerud suffered a puncture and went out of the event in the semi-finals, while it was 2024 Euro RX Champion Patrick O’Donovan who joined Kristoffersson on the front row of the final and chased the eight-time World RX title-winner throughout the race to claim his first podium of the year.

Juha Rytkonen moved into third in the standings with a third-place finish, despite failing to finish Q3 after a first lap incident with OC Veiby.

Fabien Pailler, Ollie O’Donovan and Laszlo Kiss completed the top six.
