I have been a lil quiet on here recently, as I’ve been fighting my own mental battles with an injury that has been very difficult to navigate. And I’m not afraid to admit, I’ve felt embarrassed with sustaining this injury through the rebuilding of fixing a previous injury.
and the truth is, working, living and breathing in the fitness space with an injury, is HARD.
injuries can often make you weak, and that you’ve taken a million steps backwards. A confidence knock to say the least, and a loss of trust in the body.
For me at the moment, it is a mental battle every day, but I’ll never be afraid to admit the raw side to emotions, being open & honest and conquering this brick wall.
It’s taught me a lot already, as now I’ve completely changed my training, my movement and my primary goal is to be 1% better towards my recovery & injury.
No comps, no random fitness workouts, I’m removing all high intensity & hyrox work for the foreseeable. It’s not what I’d like, but that right now doesn’t matter. Because what does matter is my body to be looked after. I am not a quitter, and this builds more mental resilience than ever.
I will always continue and forever will see the gratitude in being able to move my body the way I can.♥️✨
My movement is medicine. And what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger, right?
I wanted to share this to help anyone else going through something similar, but as a strong reminder, we’ve got this.💌
