Edzéseink során gyakran használunk a lapsúlyos gépeinken gumiszalagos ellenállást.
Ti használtok gumiszalagot a lapsúlyos gépeken?
During our training sessions, we often use resistance bands on our weight-stack machines.
By doing this, we change the strength curve.
Throughout the movement, the resistance progressively increases during the concentric phase, requiring us to overcome more and more resistance. Then, during the eccentric phase, we have to control and brake that resistance to prevent the band from pulling us back.
This type of strength curve simply cannot be achieved with vertically moving weights alone.
As a result, the muscle is exposed to a new, constantly changing stimulus. By adapting to this stimulus, the muscle can produce the desired supercompensation.
But we were curious: just how much additional load does a resistance band actually add? After all, unlike a weight stack, it isn't a fixed load that we can simply set on the machine.
The result was surprising.
With a 100 kg weight stack—which, on a 2:1 pulley system, corresponds to 50 kg of actual load—we were able to increase the resistance almost up to 85 kg.
That's a 70% increase in actual resistance, essentially making it equivalent to having a 170 kg weight stack on the machine.
Do you use resistance bands on weight-stack machines?
