⚽️What can world-class footballers take from Wing Chun Kung Fu?

During Manchester City’s ()Hong Kong tour, Sifu Nima King () shared Mindful Wing Chun with players Matheus Nunes and Marcus Bettinelli (), alongside former China Women’s National Team goalkeeper Zhao Lina.

It was great to see them experience the principles behind our approach: relaxation, structure, balance, body awareness and generating power with less unnecessary muscular tension.

Different sport, different environment, but many principles of efficient human movement carry far beyond martial arts.

❓If you’ve been practising this beautiful martial art, where have its principles helped you outside of Wing Chun, whether in daily life, another sport, or another form of training?

What does traditional Hong Kong Kung Fu have to do with football? Perhaps more than one might expect.

Recently, during 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲’s (Manchester City) visit to Hong Kong, Sifu Nima King, founder of Mindful Wing Chun, had the pleasure of sharing a Wing Chun experience with Manchester City players 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐮𝐬 𝐍𝐮𝐧𝐞𝐬 and 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐬 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢 (), alongside former China Women’s National Team goalkeeper 𝐙𝐡𝐚𝐨 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐚.

It was great to see 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝-𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐬 experiencing some of the ideas that make our approach to Wing Chun so unique: relaxation, structure, balance, body awareness and generating power with less muscular tension.

Experiences like this are always interesting because they open a bigger question: where else might these principles be useful?

Back at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum for the Hong Kong Bruce Lee Day Camp 2026 🥋

It was wonderful to return after taking part in the camp in previous years. We are very grateful to the Hong Kong Heritage Museum and the Bruce Lee Foundation for welcoming our team back and continuing to create meaningful ways for children to connect with Hong Kong’s martial arts heritage.
Inspired by Bruce Lee’s philosophy of fluidity, this year’s camp explored qualities such as strength, adaptability, empathy, and peace. 🍃🫴🏻

Across three Wing Chun sessions, children aged 9–12 explored these ideas through movement, coordination, focus, partner exercises, and interactive training. Practising beside the museum’s Bruce Lee statue made the experience even more special for both the children and our instructors.

Our team thoroughly enjoyed the sessions, and we were so happy to hear how much the children enjoyed them too.

Thank you again for having us.🤜🏼🫷🏻We are always happy to return!
