Glimpses of the 1 day MUN conference held on 31st March, 2018

Last week, our delegates represented HKU in three different committees at the Harvard World Model United Nations Conference, known as the Olympics of MUN conferences! This delegation included the first assistant chair in WorldMUN from all of Hong Kong, alongside the following delegates:
- UNESCO: Sherry, Kaitlyn
- Monuments, Fine Arts and Archives Program: Kelvin
- Organisation of American States: Fatima, Hassan

The conference was held in Panama City, where the delegates interacted with students from all around the world, enjoying various cultural nights and actively participating in their respective committees to produce resolutions. At the end of the week, the delegates departed from Panama not only with a week full of unforgettable memories but an array of awards and recognitions. Fatima and Hassan won the Outstanding Diplomacy award as the representatives of Ecuador in the committee of Organisation of American States.

Please congratulate the delegates for their hard work and welcome them back to Hong Kong!

Our team shines at the HKUST MUN 2017 which was held on the 1st and 2nd of October!
Congratulations to the Delegates of United Kingdom for being awarded as the Best Delegates in the UN Security Council; and the Delegates of Tunisia for winning the Honorable Mention award in ECOSOC!

*UPDATE about the Information Session*

With great pleasure we announce that Baptist University and Model Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Conference (MAIIBC) shall also be joining us on the evening of April 5th!
This makes six conferences/societies in total that would be sharing in the upcoming Hong Kong MUN information session--talk about getting a comprehensive view of MUN in HK!

Along with BU and MAIIBC, various representatives of MUN societies from HKUST and City U shall also be sharing about their respective conferences.

We will also hear from the secretariat of Asia Pacific Model United Nations Conference 2017--one of the biggest Asian conference--which will be held at HKU this June, to share their conference details.

In the session, HKUSMUN executive committee will also share about the society, upcoming outgoing delegations, and scholarship opportunities for next year.

This information session targets both high school and college students, and aims to inform participants on the local and international conferences that will be happening throughout the year. If you wish to participate in any local and international MUN conferences or are simply curious about them, we again strongly encourage you to take hold of this wonderful opportunity and hop on board!
