Technique Breakdown:
My award winning elbow
The first thing to understand is that MOVES are just MOVES unless thereβs intention and ideas π‘ attached to it!
Many people fail at performing a technique because they just copy the moves but donβt understand the idea that composed said moves.
1. THE IDEA π‘: First implement in your opponent the stress of checking / dodging imminent danger with a imminent attack, and then strike where he lets his guard / attention lack.
2. THE HOW βοΈ: First strike with a strong switch kick, enough to land and cause pain this will cause your opponent to direct attention to this particular move. Secondly you want to corner and maintain contact distance by reaching out with the lead hand (Jab). Finally once you manage to (ideally) have your opponent against the ropes, you will switch but instead of kick you want to take control of their guard and strike with a powerful elbow. π₯
The sheer power of the strike combined with the element of surprise is usually enough to knockout your opponent and win you the fight! π
Try this at the bag or pads and let me know how you do!! π₯
