Yesterday, Operation Breakthrough launched an exciting new chapter for our Boxing Section at the Society of Boys’ Centre Hui Chung Sing Memorial School. Over 50 students joined us for a powerful session themed “Strive for Life” (拼搏人生), introducing them to the discipline of boxing ahead of two practical trial lessons coming up this July.

We are thrilled to officially introduce and congratulate our new Boxing Directors, Doris Tsang and Edwin Ng as they step into their leadership roles! Both are decorated athletes who have represented the Hong Kong Police Boxing Club (PBC) and share a deep, long-standing history with Breakthrough.

At the same time, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our outgoing director, Mr. Eric Wong, for his incredible dedication, mentorship, and invaluable contributions to our youth over the years🙏🏿❤️

🔥 PAC Adventure Challenge 2026 | Breakthrough in Action! 🏃‍♂️💨

What a day! Our Director, Mr. YIP Man-kuen, led two of our Breakthrough Boys through a grueling 11km orienteering course starting from the Tai Po JPC Club House all the way to Sheung Shui. 🗺️📍

But the finish line was just the beginning. The team headed to the Police Tactical Unit (PTU) to smash a series of high-intensity challenges, including:
🧗‍♂️ Rope ladder climbs
⚽ Cooperative ball passing
⚡ Agility runs

We were honored to have our Chairman, Mr. David Jordan, on-site to cheer the team on—his presence sent morale through the roof! 📈🙌🏽

From start to finish, the boys showed incredible grit, coordination, and that "never-give-up" spirit we’re so proud of. Huge congrats to the team for completing the race and showing what Operation Breakthrough is all about! 💪🏽🔥

Operation Breakthrough recently hosted an appreciation ceremony to honor the donors, volunteers, and partner non-profit organizations who support Hong Kong’s youth through sports and mentorship. Key supporters acknowledged included The Tung Foundation, The Community Chest of Hong Kong, The Wharf Group, The Sir Robert Ho Tung Charity Fund, and Dr. Nai, Mr. N.H. Cheung.
Chairman David Jordan thanked guests, stating their generosity brightens the future of beneficiaries by providing access to valuable programs.

Heartfelt gratitude is extended to the dedicated police volunteers of Operation Breakthrough, whose selfless commitment to mentoring at-risk youth through sports continues to transform lives in the community. It is a tremendous honor to see these volunteers recognized by the Hong Kong Police Volunteer Services Corps (PVSC), a distinction that highlights their significant contribution to social harmony and juvenile delinquency prevention.

Being invited to the PVSC annual gathering—an event celebrating decades of positive energy and service—serves as a fitting tribute to their tireless efforts in building bridges between Hong Kong Police and the next generation. This well-deserved recognition reaffirms that their “sports can change lives” mission is not only impactful but deeply valued by the entire community.

After an eight-year wait, the Operation Breakthrough Dragonboat Team has once again claimed a top honor, winning the Community Shield at the Hong Kong Police Charity Race. The event celebrated more than just the competition, serving to strengthen the relationship between Operation Breakthrough, the Hong Kong Police Dragonboat Team, and the wider community.

A service user from Operation Breakthrough reflected on the triumphant moment, recalling the highest praise from their coach, "Kee Gor," who shouted, "Well done, boys and girls!" According to the user, this was a testament to their surprising transformation and proof that they could overcome their previous struggles. "The most difficult thing was not just winning, but how we perfectly displayed our performance—which was not always in sync during regular practice," the user said. "At the most important moment, we proved that we had shattered all the sweat and doubts from our practice sessions. We proved to everyone that we could do it!".

The event also promoted the spirit of the rule of law, showcasing a shared vision for maintaining stability and harmony in Hong Kong. Beyond the dragon boat action, the day's festivities included a special performance by the Operation Breakthrough Dance Troupe, adding to the day's celebratory atmosphere.

In preparation for the 15th National Games triathlon in Hong Kong, the Police Adventure Club partnered with the Hong Kong Triathlon Association to host a triathlon experience event at the Police College.
Six volunteers and trainees from Operation Breakthrough participated, demonstrating teamwork and resolve in the disciplines of swimming, indoor cycling, and running.

The event successfully encouraged trainees’ perseverance, physical fitness, and understanding of police work through the challenge of sport.

【👏🏻Proud achievement • Breakthrough Cricket 🏏】

The 2024-25 cricket league has concluded, and Cricket Hong Kong recently held its Annual Award Ceremony on 30 August, 2025.

A huge congratulations to Mr. Fazeel Awan, our U19 star, for an impressive tally of 323 runs in just 4 matches! He was honored with the “Top Batter of the Season (U19 League)” award.
