With the successful Demo Day yesterday (Aug 18), ABSGxHYPE Sports Tech Virtual Accelerator - China Growth Vertical concluded on a high note! The accelerator focuses on the future growth of the Chinese market - allowing global sports technology startups to enter China, also linking Chinese startups to international opportunities. Over 140 signed up for the Demo Day, and eventually, 90 attendees participated and voted for “the most promising company” and “the best pitch” award among the last 17 outstanding startups.

Mr. Mike Yang, founder and CEO of ABSG, and the founder of HYPE Sports Innovation, Amir Raveh kicked off the event with opening remarks expressing their appreciation to the dedicated mentors as well as best wishes to the startups and the Event. ABSG has also invited Mr. Horry Wang from Tsinghua PBCSF, Mr. Brian Zheng from LIVALL IoT Tech, and Accelerator MentorMars Pouyan, to give speeches. LIVALL is a successful example of sports tech entrepreneur, which now offers the world's first smart cycling helmet. The founder, Brian, shared with the audience about the brand story and the journey behind brand success.

After 3 hours of pitching, the mentors and participants graded the startups according to their company’s promising level and pitch performance. Eventually, ActiveAR, ViLiKe, and Levier Exo S.L. take home the “most promising startups” award, while Mark Hester from ActiveAR also received the “best pitch” award. Let’s congratulate the winners for their hard work for the past 2 months and finally pays off.

Once again, ABSG would like to thank all the mentors and startups that participated in the ABSGxHYPE Virtual Accelerator, also HYPE Sports Innovation. We will for sure meet again in the China sports tech industry in the near future!

How do accelerators boost the growth of early-stage sports start-ups in a short period of time, and bridge investors and startups?
