The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) has announced a 14-member squad to represent Guyana at the upcoming Cricket West Indies (CWI) Rising Stars Under-19 Championship in Antigua and Barbuda, following several weeks of intensive preparation.

Captain Parmeshwar Ram will lead the team, which departs Guyana on July 9, as it looks to challenge for regional honours.

Another DCC son follows in his father's footsteps at the regional U19 level.

Congrats to Jonathan Mentore on his selection to the Guyana U19 team for the Regional team for the Regional Youth Championship in Antigua later this month.

He now joins his dad, Mayor Alfred Mentore, who proudly represented Guyana back in 1991.

Congrats to our very own Jonathan Mentore who was selected to represent Guyana in the Cricket West Indies (CWI) Regional Under-19 Tournament scheduled to be played in Antigua from July 7-23, 2026.

Jonathan, a batting allrounder, also represented Guyana at the Under 15 level in 2022 and 2023 and was stand by for Guyana at the Under 17 level in 2025. He also represents his Club DCC in local competitions at various levels and was the Captain for the Under 17 team this year.

The selected players are Justin Dowlin, Jonathan Mentore, Shamar Apple, Joshua Budram, Darwin Joseph, Dhanesh Persaud, Micah Amsterdam, Parmeshwar Ram, Romario Ramdeholl, Adrian Hetmyer, Razam Koober, Yannick Newton, Gilbert Griffith, Feaz Baksh, Richard Ramdeholl, Dave Mohabir, Thierry Henry, Khush Seegobin, Gibran Yacoob, Emmanuel Lewis, Jayhayden Rohler, Darrius Pearson and Shazim Mohamed.

Guyanese and Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) left-arm spinner Ashmead Nedd returns to the St. Kitts and Nevis Pariots for the 2026 Caribbean Premier League.

CPL will run from August 7 - September 20, with the finals set for Barbados at the iconic Kensington Oval.

In a social media post, Patriots described Nedd as “bringing energy and balance back to the squad”.
