Demerara Cricket Board Pays Tribute to Jai Narine “Don” Singh
The Demerara Cricket Board expresses deep sadness at the passing of Mr. Jai Narine Singh, affectionately known as Don Singh.
Mr. Singh gave many years of service to public life and community development, particularly through his role as a councillor of the Georgetown Mayor and City Council. He was also closely connected to the sport of cricket, having served with distinction as President of the historic Georgetown Cricket Club.
Throughout his life, Mr. Singh was known for his strong voice, firm principles, and willingness to serve. His contribution to public affairs and his commitment to the development of cricket earned him respect across many sectors of society.
The Demerara Cricket Board acknowledges his valuable service to the Georgetown Cricket Club, to cricket in Demerara, and to the wider national community. His passing is a loss not only to his family and friends, but also to the many institutions and communities that benefited from his involvement and leadership.
At this time of sorrow, the President, Executives and Members of the Demerara Cricket Board extend sincere condolences to his family, relatives, friends, colleagues, the Georgetown Cricket Club, and all who mourn his passing.
May his soul rest in peace.
