Falcons ‘B’ Undefeated as They Secure Inaugural GPF 187th Anniversary Rugby 7s Tournament.

Yesterday, the Guyana Police Force successfully hosted their first-ever rugby tournament, with four teams vying for the top spot. The Falcons B unit booked their place in the final with three group-stage wins: 22-7 over Police A, 12-0 over GDF B, and 15-10 over GDF A.

The final saw GDF B and Falcons B clash again. This time, the GDF outfit came out swinging and scored the opening try through Gavin McPherson. The Falcons finally breached the Army’s defence with a try from Owen Adonis to level the score. The police side then pulled away with tries from Shawn David, Michael Barrow, and Theodore Henry, securing a 28-7 victory and the title.
The tournament also featured a young female squad, signalling a conscious effort by the GPF to rebuild women’s rugby locally.

The GPF Falcons will now shift their focus to the Caribcation 7s tournament in St. Lucia on August 1st, where they will look to defend their title.

Huge shoutout to the incredible team behind our recent fundraiser. Weeks of hard work, meticulous planning, and pure dedication culminated in a highly successful event. I'm incredibly proud to work alongside such passionate individuals, we now shift our focus to July 11th where we will host our inaugural 7’s rugby tournament.
