Our regulatory space covers the regions of Greater Georgetown, and ends at the Abary Creek.

The Office of the General Secretary of the East Demerara Football Association (EDFA) has processed and approved more than twenty player transfers during the Guyana Football Federation Inc. (GFF) June/July Transfer Window.

The East Demerara Football Association proudly congratulates Malik Sobers of Buxton Stars Football Club and Isaiah Pellew of Ann's Grove United FC on their outstanding contribution to the Guyana Under-14 Boys’ National Team’s victory in the 2026 Caribbean Football Union (CFU) U14 Challenge Championship.

You have represented your clubs, the East Demerara Football Association and the people of Guyana with pride and distinction.

A massive congratulations to our outstanding Guyana U14 Boys on your magnificent victory over Suriname in the CFU U14 Boys Challenge Final.

You have made the entire nation extremely proud. Your determination, teamwork, discipline, courage and never-say-die spirit have brought great honour to the Golden Arrowhead.

Today, you did not only win a football match, you demonstrated the talent, potential and bright future of Guyana’s football. Your achievement will inspire thousands of young boys and girls across our country to believe that they too can represent Guyana and achieve greatness.

The EDFA proudly salutes the players, coaches, technical staff, parents and everyone who supported this remarkable team.

Day Four of the Koolkid/EDFA Grassroot Football Programme

The fourth day of the Koolkid/EDFA Grassroot Football Programme continued at the Mahaicony Community Center Ground, with another productive day of football development and youth engagement.

A total of 34 young players participated in the day’s activities, comprising 14 Koolkid children and 20 EDFA Under-17 players.

The programme provided an excellent opportunity for the younger participants to develop their football skills while also allowing the EDFA U17 players to take part in the activities and serve as positive examples for the younger generation.

The day focused on football skills development, teamwork, discipline, coordination and small-sided games, creating an enjoyable and developmental environment for all participants.

Day Three of the Koolkid Football Festival / EDFA Grassroot Football Programme

The Koolkid Football Festival / EDFA Grassroot Football Programme continued on Day Three at the Mahaicony Community Center Ground, with another successful day of football development, fun and learning for the participating children.

The young players continued to benefit from technical skills training, ball mastery exercises, football challenges, small-sided games and other age-appropriate activities designed to improve their confidence, coordination, teamwork and understanding of the game.

The coaches also reinforced important values such as discipline, respect, teamwork, sportsmanship and fair play, while ensuring that the children continued to enjoy themselves in a safe and positive football environment.

With two more days remaining, the programme continues to provide an excellent platform for children in the Mahaicony community to develop their football abilities, build friendships and develop a greater love and appreciation for the sport.

Day Two of the Koolkid/EDFA Grassroots Football Programme

The second day of the Koolkid/EDFA Grassroots Football Programme continued successfully at the Mahaicony Community Center Ground, with another exciting day of football development and learning for the young participants.

The activities were led by Coach Halley and Coach Trudy De Freitas, with the support and participation of EDFA President Rickford Profitt. The coaches focused on developing the youngsters' fundamental football skills while encouraging teamwork, discipline, confidence, sportsmanship and a love for the game.

The programme forms part of EDFA's continued commitment to taking football into communities and providing young players with opportunities to learn, develop and enjoy the beautiful game in a positive environment.

Koolkid/EDFA Grassroots Festival – Day One
The first day of the Koolkid/EDFA Grassroots Football Festival was successfully held at the Mahaicony Community Centre Ground, with young footballers coming together for a day focused on football development, participation and enjoyment.

The Koolkid Festival featured 14 Under-10 players, who participated in age-appropriate football activities designed to develop their basic skills, coordination, confidence and love for the game.

At the same time, the EDFA Grassroots Programme attracted 30 Under-16 players, providing the older participants with opportunities to further develop their technical abilities, understanding of the game and teamwork.

The strong turnout on Day One demonstrates the continued interest in youth football in the Mahaicony area and the importance of providing young players with structured opportunities to learn and enjoy the sport.

EDFA remains committed to taking football to communities and creating pathways for young players to develop from grassroots level through to competitive football.
