In Aikido, control is not about holding someone with force. It comes from understanding where and how to connect, using precise contact, positioning and timing to guide the movement.
Here, control is maintained through the elbow and arm while keeping the rest of the body free and balanced. A small point of contact can influence the whole movement.

In Aikido, good technique is not about using more force. It starts with finding the right distance, the right angle and maintaining control while staying connected to your partner.
The movement may look simple, but behind it are principles of balance, timing and awareness. Using position and movement rather than strength to create control.
