Huge congratulations to our own Josh Cross on his selection for Premiership Rugby’s Sale Sharks U17 Academy squad!
After attending the Sale Sharks residential camp, Josh was selected to represent the Academy in a trial game against Newcastle Falcons. Having now completed a successful medical, we’re delighted to announce that he will now join the Sale Sharks Academy programme.
To take up this opportunity Josh is moving to the UK for sixth form, where he will combine his A Levels with top-level school rugby and regular training with the Sale Sharks Academy at their Carrington training ground.
Josh has been part of the Gibraltar youth teams since the age of six, and it has been incredibly rewarding to watch his journey from those early days through to this fantastic opportunity.
His selection is the result of years of dedication, turning up week after week to every training session, working on his game and continually challenging himself to improve both on and off the pitch.
For Gibraltar rugby, this is something to be incredibly proud of. Josh’s journey shows what can be achieved from a small rugby community when talent is matched by commitment, hard work and the right opportunities.
We hope his story inspires the next generation of Gibraltar players to dream big, work hard and believe that opportunities at the highest levels are within their reach.
Congratulations Josh, we’re incredibly proud and can’t wait to see where this journey takes you!

Gibraltar Rugby Heritage Project – We Need Your Help
We are creating a complete record of every living player who has represented Gibraltar Rugby Club (or Gibraltar Barbarians etc) in Andalucia or the local league in Gib in the 70, 80s or 90s and or for the Gibraltar Rugby Football Union (representative games).

2025/26 AGE-GRADE SEASON HIGHLIGHTS 💙🏉
What a season it's been for our next generation of Gibraltar Rugby players.
From competing at the TN Bank Youth Rugby Festival and the Barbarians FAR Tournament, to taking on teams across Sevilla, Marbella, Portugal, Algeciras and the Tigers Challenge, our age-grade sides have proudly represented Gibraltar every step of the way.
Every tour, festival and fixture has been another opportunity to learn, develop and create memories that will last a lifetime—both on and off the pitch.
A huge thank you to our players, coaches, volunteers, parents and supporters for making this another unforgettable season. Here's to building on these foundations next season. 💙
