🇬🇭🤾🏾‍♀️ SUNIEL SUPPORTS GHANA’S WOMEN’S HANDBALL TEAM AHEAD OF IHF TROPHY

Ghana’s National Women’s Handball Team has received a major boost ahead of their participation in the IHF Trophy tournament in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, with Suniel coming on board to support the team.

The sponsorship package, announced on Thursday, August 27, during a media engagement at the Ministry of Information, will see Suniel provide kits for the national women’s handball team as they prepare for the international assignment.

Handball Association of Ghana President, Nii Lante Bannerman, expressed his appreciation for the partnership and optimism that the support will motivate the team to give their best and deliver a strong performance for Ghana.

The sponsorship forms part of Suniel’s partnership with Ghana’s national teams and represents another important step in supporting the development and promotion of handball in Ghana.

The Handball Association of Ghana sincerely appreciates Suniel for the support and partnership.

Congratulations to Kalibi Handball Club, Ashiaman Handball Club, and the Police Handball Team on winning their respective categories at the maiden edition of the HAG Invitational Tournament.

A big thank you to all participating teams, coaches, and match officials for making the tournament a success.

This is just the beginning of many great things to come as we continue to push handball within and beyond the shores of Ghana.

The Handball Association of Ghana was represented by Executive Committee Member Christian Osei Yaw and General Secretary Charles Amofa at the Annual Congress of the Ghana Olympic Committee and Commonwealth Sports Ghana, held on Saturday, 16th May 2026, at the Best Western Premier Hotel.

In his address, GOC President Richard Akpokavie, Esq commended Ghana’s National Men’s and Women’s Handball Teams for their impressive performances at the ANOCA Zone III Games, where both teams won silver medals, a positive moment and a strong reflection of the progress being made by Ghana Handball on the continental stage

The Handball Association of Ghana has successfully concluded the 5-day IHF License D Coaching Course at the National Sports College, Winneba on Friday, May 8, 2026.

A total of 31 participants proudly received their certificates as certified IHF License D coaches, including 9 female coaches, a big boost for coach development and women’s participation in Ghana handball.

The course was expertly facilitated by Dr. Tarek Lotfy Zahran of the International Handball Federation (IHF).

Congratulations to all the participants, and onward to greater heights for Ghana handball!

🇬🇭 Ghana U-20 Men Claim Bronze at the 2026 IHF Zone III Trophy

Ghana’s U-20 Men’s Handball Team secured bronze medal at the 2026 IHF Zone III Trophy in Lomé, Togo, defeating Burkina Faso 34–25 in the third-place playoff.

The U-18 team narrowly missed out on a podium finish, placing fourth after a closely contested 27–28 loss to Niger.

On the individual front, Mubarak Bashiru delivered outstanding performances, earning two MVP awards, while Pius Komasi also claimed one MVP for the U-20 side.

Not the outcome we hoped for, but valuable lessons learned. We take the positives and bounce back stronger. 💪🏿🇬🇭
