πŸ“£ | Raiders departure

Charlie Wilkinson

Charlies departure sees the club lose a player who has shown real character and determination throughout his time here. After facing an early injury setback this season, to see him work tirelessly on his own to get back, finish the campaign, and go on to win a Siam is truly remarkable. Not many would have the attitude to commit to that level of intense rehab, and it speaks volumes about the person Charlie is. His professionalism, resilience, and team-first mentality have been hugely valued. There is no doubt he will be missed within the squad, not just as a player but a great man to have in the environment, and he leaves with the respect and appreciation of everyone at the club.

πŸ₯Ί | Guernsey Raiders Departure

James Burger

James or better known as β€œCheeese or Chicken Buger, thank you for everything you have given to Guernsey Raiders. Your commitment, toughness and willingness to support the club have been hugely appreciated. Unfortunately, injuries have hampered your final two seasons on the island, limiting the impact you could make on the field. It has been a pleasure to watch you grow as both a player and a person, and we wish you every success back in England. We hope your luck with injuries changes and that you can enjoy the rugby your talent deserves. You'll always be welcome back at Guernsey Raiders.

How do you sum up 5 years of an absolute legend leading the pack? πŸ’š

Following the end of the 25/26 season, Kayleigh Oliver has stepped down as our Captain.

To say she’s left big boots to fill is an understatement. Thank you for always putting your teammates first, putting your body on the line, and being a role model for senior players and academy girls.

It's not been the easiest road, with a few injuries thrown in that time, but Kayleigh has led us through thick and thin.

We’re so grateful for all you have done for us, and we're looking forward to having you on the pitch next season.

Give it up for the skipper! πŸ‘

πŸ“’ | Volunteer of the year

The Guernsey Raiders Club only runs thanks to the substantial contribution of a large group of volunteers. These people are the unsung heroes who give up significant amounts of time to allow all our players to step out on the pitch each week and play the game they love.

We are delighted to this year award the Bruce Mansell trophy to Cedric Bail. Cedric leads our membership program and has gone above and beyond in establishing links with a number of French clubs, which came together in an amazing April evening, when our ladies hosted a combined team from SC Le Rheu and Stade Rennais.

Well done Cedric and thank you for everything you do!

πŸ₯Ί| Guernsey Raiders departure - Jamie Aureka Maoate-Dunn

Jamie Aureka Maoate-Dunn’s departure marks the end of his time with the club after a number of valuable seasons. He has been a committed and reliable member of the squad, contributing with professionalism, consistency, and a strong team-first attitude. His courage in facing adversity, particularly his battle with cancer, and the positivity he showed in working his way back to playing rugby, deserve immense praise and respect. He leaves with the appreciation of everyone at the club for both his contribution on the field and the example he set off it, and we wish him well on his next journey.

πŸ‰ | Another Raiders retirement

πŸ‘πŸΌ | Jordan says:

Sam Steventon sits in a special category for this club, alongside Malcolm Barnes and Doug Horrocks, as one of the biggest on-field influences in a debut season.
Early on, we weren’t quite sure if we’d signed a prop or a centre, such was his agility and impact in the loose. It didn’t take long to realise we had something special.
To reach 199 league appearances is a remarkable achievement, even more so in the front row. Week after week, Sam delivered with consistency, resilience, and an uncompromising edge that helped define this team.
Finishing as a winner feels like a very fitting end for such a significant player in the club’s journey.
