Today we commenced our Pre Vocational Daytime dance training programme 🥳 💛💜💛

The students who attend these classes on a Monday have either discussed an agreement with school to attend our alternative provision on Mondays or are home educated. 💜

If your child loves dancing and would love to do more of it, enquire now about our New Pre Vocational Dance programme 💛

As this course develops we hope to extend this to more hours and more days 💜

Although there are other courses like this across the country we are the first Dance school in York to provide this exciting new opportunity 💛

At a time when young people are unable to express themselves in school to their fullest and don’t experience enough physical activity, this course will enhance their confidence, learning ability and enjoyment through childhood. 💜

Whether your child wants to go into full time Vocational schools and colleges or just wants to experience the joy of dance… this course is for you 💛

We have students who have progressed on to schools such as, Elmhurst, Tring, Hammond, Kings, CAPA, SLP, Renaissance, Arts Ed, to name a few, as well as prestigious Associate courses such as Royal Ballet associates…

Parents can drop off their ghosts and ghouls for an evening of fun with the En Pointe Team.

I just love my job! Every style comes with its own challenges for each student and in turn its own successes and achievements for each individual.

What do you love about working at EP?
I love the supportive environment at En Pointe which allows every student to thrive in their own right. Every student is challenged whether they want to enjoy dance as a hobby or take dance more seriously there’s truly something for everyone!

Favourite ballet or musical?
This is a hard choice!
I love Les Miserables, Phantom Of The Opera, The Lion King, and Swan Lake (The list could go on!!!)
(Fun Fact: I had a musical theme at my wedding!)

Favourite dance move?
I love pirouettes, I love teaching pirouettes, and the students love the sense of achievement they get when landing that perfect turn!

Favourite dance style to teach and why? I love teaching any dance style that allows you to tell a story. Humans have been communicating through dance for millennia and there is something special about connecting through movement.

What do you love about working at EP? At En Pointe there is that magical mixture of a warm, inclusive environment coupled with high expectations of our students. It’s the perfect recipe for enjoyable and purposeful learning.

Favourite ballet or musical? Nijinsky’s The Rite of Spring . If a ballet can cause a riot on opening night how can anything top it!

Favourite dance move? The plié. It’s the one that starts it all.

Favourite dance style to teach and why?
Contemporary. I love exploring the many different ways we can use movement to tell a story and express emotion. I also love how contemporary dance draws on so many different styles and techniques, giving dancers the freedom to explore their own individuality and creativity.

What do you love about working at EP?
I love that En Pointe is a safe and supportive space for so many young people and, for many, a real home away from home. As a teacher, it is incredibly rewarding to be able to support young dancers throughout their journey, helping them grow not only in their technique and performance, but also in their confidence and belief in themselves.

Hamilton or Billy Elliot

Favourite dance move?
Any contemporary floor work 🤩

Miss Christina - EPs amazing Acro teacher 💛💜💛

Number of EP classes a week? 3x Acro classes

Days of week you teach? Sunday

Favourite dance style to teach and why? Acro because I used to be a gymnast and love all things upside down! Acro is an exciting combination of acrobatics, strength and artistry rolled into one.

What do you love about working at EP? The friendly staff and wonderful training studios.
